'14 GT strange vibration at certain rpms
Hello everyone, I'm having a bit of an odd issue with my mustang.
At certain rpms, specifically right before 1500 rpm and around 2k I get this strange vibration. It's almost like a hesitation but after that it's smooth as silk as far as I know. (I haven't tested at the upper end of the tach) I've never really noticed it before until I decided to lightly hold the throttle while in at a standstill in neutral.
Driving it seems pretty imperceptible, although I will admit when I let of the gas at low rpms the engine braking starts of very jerky, and then it becomes smooth as it slows down the car. Originally I just attested it to the fact that the driveshaft is a 2 piece so it must be clunking but now I wonder if it has anything to do with the vibration at low rpms.
If it provides any info, I bought the car with about 3400 on the odometer almost a year ago and I'm almost at 9000. Car seems to drive just fine, but it's still a bit bizarre. Also, I did bounce of the rev limiter in 3rd (or maybe 2nd) one time, when I was still learning the limits of the car. Scared the wits out of me because the throttle closed completely so the engine braking was fierce. But nothing happened after that, no engine light or anything. And that was about 2000 miles ago. Quick search says harmonic balancer, but the car is so young, I find that hard to believe.
