Opinion for naming my car.

I've for a long time have been trying to come up with a name for my car. I also am going to use it as my personalize plate. Give me your opinion good or bad.

There's what you call your car and then there is pretentious nut-swinging like this. I always feel it is a bit juvenile going with these kind of "tough" names but, that's just my opinion. Naming something should kind of emerge from your experience with it, not from some tough-guy aspiration for it.

I call mine Bruce, because he looks like a big grey shark to me.

I named my 14 Francesca. I always thought that name was really hot and sexy sounding and that's exactly how I feel about my car.

Quick story on how I personalized my plate. My wife kept on asking me if u was sure I wanted a manual transmission because I suffer from gout. I told her I'm not going to let my gout stop me from driving it. So a week after I got my car I couldn't drive it for a month because I had an attack on my clutch foot. The plates I ordered say, IH8GOUT.

I've always wanted to get an 05/06 GTO, white with black or black/red leather interior and name it BAYMAX. Or a 2012 Lava Red Mustang and name it MAGMAR.

Tough car names are kinda toolish honestly... Should reflect something personal to you or something funny or whatever.

Hear ya, man...I wrecked my MT82 car in Sept and, as a replacement, I got a 14 auto. frickin' good thing I did bc I had a major onset of inflammatory arthritis, total body attack and the only thing that kept me moving was the 6R80. I even jacked myself up on Prednisone and took it to the track for the season opener a couple weeks back!

Any 5.0 is a good choice in my book, regardless of the trans.

I named my car Katie. I always refer to the car as "her" though.

Loved both cars, definitely and it was tragic I killed the MT. This auto car is more well-rounded right out of the gate and requires less immediate attention (shifter, rear suspension) than the Mt car did.

Yeah I was on that prednisone for a month. It went from my clutch foot then to the other. There was no way I can drive a manual. I couldn't even put a damn shoe on yet alone press a clutch. I really wanted to put FUKGOUT but would have sounded more childish.

Ugh eff that. I had my knee scoped last year and have not driven stick regularly since. Going to convert my 2000 to auto if it gives me too many issues driving.

Opinion for naming my car.

You might look into names of the color in different languages.
For my two I like Livius and Flavian. Both Ancient Roman names.

Respect the Classics.

The only vehicle I ever named was my white '95 F-150. Won't bore y'all with the story, but I called her "The Ghost."

Best wishes to everyone suffering an ailment which interferes with your life. If at all possible, "Keep moving!" I'm referring to using your body for more than driving.

I'm so fricking in love with my 6R80 it's almost sociopathic how quickly I got over my MT82. I could have shown a little more grief at least after murdering my 2012 BBP, social graces and all but, nope, one drive in the '14 auto and seeing its possibilities and capabilities, buh-bye manual.

...the last "performance car" I had with an auto was a 1974 Trans Am with turbo 400 in it. Man, things are better now! I tuned the auto with VMP and it frickin' rocks and no matter what turn my health takes, I can still drive Bruce and race him, which comforts me a little as I grieve looking at my 9 second GSXR drag bike holding the floor down in the basement.

All god points. I wondered if that name was too bold and I wouldn'd want to brag and then look silly after losing to my next door neighbor and his 4 banger that sounds like it is only running on three. I'll just have to keep thinking on this one. Thx for the input.

Just my opinion but I always thought naming cars was kind of dumb. I think it's fine to name a Space Shuttle, but a car, only if you are a girl. My ex named her car and I always refused to use the name. Now that I think about it I may be half a million richer if I called it by that name, perhaps she would not have divorced me.

My 1989 Chevy G10 work van has several names: Moby Truck (it's white), Vincent Van Go and, "#$%^box!" when it decides not to run.

I'm about to stop driving it so much. Haven't had her a year and Iv'e put 12K miles on the clock so far. I should of waited to buy but I couldn't do it once I saw her. I passed 3 times before I signed the paperwork.... Insurance is killing me though it's a car note itself.

I'll die before I get rid of her unless something fatal happens to her. When I brought her home my mom had to sit down in the drive way....

Why? Are you 16 or something?

My parents, girlfriends, etc. never got the obsession with cars and motorcycles but, hey, one divorce in (not really due to the car hobby) and a current girlfriend that knows she can't really change me and that's that...I'm 50, fwiw.

I have a GT500 heavily modified 780hp RWHP, 980trq) . When I got it first it caught fire during the first trip (exhaust pipes glowed and ignited the electrical wires nerby. The fire went up to the engine bay. Happily, the fire was extinguished by water hose (it happened near a car wash). My mechanic spent long months to bring it back to life, the ECU was replaced and custom tuned by Jon Lund II. In the long run I got what I wanted and named it after may mechanic PALIGO which is contraction of his first and last name. I even had a custom emblem made on the back of the trunk.

$2,1128.xx is my 6 month Premium.... That's with discounts and all that. I checked about 5 other companies, all wanted $100+ or more than Geico per month....
Nothin on the record (every thing is deferred).

When I was on my parents policy (Before the Stang) it was $496 per month (Allstate). Was insured to drive $160K worth of cars though...

I guess it's sorta good to be old, have a clean driving record, and not drive my car much cuz I pay $1320 a year for my 14 premium gt. It also helps that I've been with the same company since I was 16 and I'm 35 now.
