Married tunner unlock

I was wondering if I were to buy a SCT x4 off of a guy but he says it is still married what would I need to do to unmarry it? And does it matter that he used it on a Camaro? Would it even work on a mustang?

You have to send it to SCT and give them $150 to unlock it. Then you have to go buy new tunes, usually another $150 or so depending on who you go through. The device is universal, it can work on any car assuming it has the right tunes.

Ok thank you so it's probably not worth all that hassle to spend that much to get it unmarried. I might as well just get a new one.

you can score unlocked ones for $150-200 so unless it's a steal price don't. idk about Chevy Ford but 5LHO is smart

The Ford ones and the Chevy ones are different. On the old X3s, for example, you needed the SF3 or XF3 to work with a Ford.
