Loss of Power - Update and Resolution

So I wanted to post an update regarding my power loss. My old dynograph was falling off around 5800 RPM and I was hitting ~460HP on a Mustang dyno.

With excellent forum help, special thanks to 5LHO, I decided to pull the cats off and install Kooks long tube headers and non-catted x-pipe.

With a tune revision I am pulling to 6900 RPM with a peak of 603RWHP on the Mustang Dyno. Crappy 91 octane AZ gas, 100 degree heat. I'm happy. Can't wait for winter.

Here is a picture of one of my cats when taken off. Look at all that melted honeycomb!

What are the options of we wish to stay close to stock. I like my roush mufflers and would like to keep it the same. Any suggestions on hi flow cats or is it better to replace with stock cats?

Truthfully, I may be an outlier. I had initial problems that caused a misfire and the CEL flashed meaning excess fuel was dumped into the cats. They could have been damaged before. I am the second owner and the previous owner had a tune that he took out.

The non-catted x-pipe from Kooks and the new tune is wonderful given the harsh Phoenix heat.

Certainly without the cats in there, it's a hell of a lot better. It would be interesting to see what new stock cats or hi-flows would be.
