I don't mind the button, you'd be grabbing in that area with a stick anyway. As you say though, I would prefer paddles. It's an easy add on if you want it in an S197.

The auto is surprisingly capable on the backroad using select shift. The car generally handles better with the auto, on the road, as well, as the stick tends to wind up the driveline and suspension more. The rear axle of the stick car, unmodified, seems to be in a race with the body to see who can get to the ditch first.

Nah the 4r70w was good after the mid year 1997 update and the 04 4R75w is spectacular. That thing will hold 600+ all day bone stock.

But the 6R is, IMO, the best transmission Ford has ever put in a Mustang and that includes the sticks.

Ok, don't know much about those so, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt but, then they got back to their roots and put the 5R55 out, which is also kind of weak.

I kinda lost the plot on Mustangs after 1993 for a good long while as Ford experimented with SN/New Edge, yech....

Hey now the SN95 can look great with a few tweaks and the New Edge is almost universally loved for looking amazing.

Agreed the 5R was dog****

One man's cake is another man's sawdust.....

I always felt the New Edge in particular had goofy lines, especially in stock 4X4 suspension mode....and I was never, ever going to buy another Mustang with a 4.6 in it, no matter what they came up with...I got a real hate on for that family of engines and even the Terminator couldn't change that. To each his own, of course.

When the 2010 came out I was, wow, that thing looks like a real Mustang, finally but, dammit, they stuck with the taxicab engine! Then Ford realized I was their target market, lol. 50 years old, money in the bank, looking for a badass looking car with a real performance engine. "Eureka!", says they and comes up with the Coyote, the best Mustang GT engine of all time.

So I just installed my h pipe. Is it possible to be too loud? It's pretty loud and not sure if I am liking it. I have a convertible so that may make it worse. I expected it loud and I am hoping that there is a break in period where it may quiet down a hair. Does anyone know if it will get a little more tame. It sounds like a nascar at wot. Sounds great but not sure if I want it that loud. I have borla stingers which I love too b

Good luck...you can loud up quiet exhaust but it doesn't work the other way without changing significant stuff. Maybe you have an exhaust leak...check your clamps after a few miles.

It's not a leak just straight beast sounding when u open it up. I know most mufflers will go down a little in volume once they get a few hundred miles on it. I was hoping the mid pipe would go from maybe a 9 down to a 7 in noise level.

It's probably not going to get any quieter. I have an offroad H and Borla S types and I have to try really hard to be quiet.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the sound and have only received compliments on it. But yeah. It's loud. You can baby it around fairly quietly, but WOT is insane. lol

I feel the same exact way. Debating now though if it's worth keeping on or not. My Lund tune should be here in a few days also

We have the same set up. I think it's too loud. Have you tried gt500 or magnaflow street series axle backs to tone it down a little? Those 2 were recommended to me recently.

I like the Borla tone too much. If anything I'd probably switch to Borla touring or swap the resonators out for bullet mufflers. We'll see how it sounds cruising when I add the headers. From what I hear they mellow out the low rpms and make it scream more up top lol.

I looked at the touring too. I can't find any videos of the lethal h pipe with borla touring though.

Yeah most people want "the loudest possible exhaust" so they generally skip the touring.

Or, like me, they get it based on how it sounds without other exhaust mods. Then once you start adding stuff it escalates a bit too quickly lol.
