Rpm limit on boss intake

Okay so I just saw a video of someone at the track shifting past 7600 (from what I could tell). It was a write up after the boss intake install. When I was at the track a couple weeks ago I wasn't able to shift say passed 7200 because it would cut off before I was able to stretch into the higher rpms. So my question here is, it my tune from bama that doesn't let me rev that high or is it a setting on the sct device itself?

I constantly read about everyone saying that the advantage of the the boss IM is you can shift at 7500+ but it seems my car just won't let me.

Just request a new set of tunes from Bama, in the notes ask them to up the rev limiter.

I actually asked them to write mine as to shift at 6700 when I had an auto, I could feel the engine fall flat at 7k+.

Sorry I just assumed you had a tune for your car. If not your rev limiter is still set at the stock limits. Not sure what it is on the GT.

It's set to the RPMs that the fuel cuts off at, in your case 7200.

I don't, I was just sharing a similar experience where the rev limiter is set by the tune being used.

In other words, get a new tune with the parameters that you want.

IIRC If you have an automatic, Bama will not be able to increase your RPM shift point to fully use the Boss manifold. This is due to SCT's limitation when tuning the auto's.

HPtuners has a patch that can applied when flashing the car that will allow automatics to rev well into 8.2k.

If you have a manual then they only need to increase your engine rpm limit 7800prm.

If you have a manual then you can up the rev limiter yourself in the sct device.
