Rear end noise 14 GT

I got a 2014 GT M6 with about 34k miles on it. Couple stuff done to it intake, aed tune, 3.73 from factory and some exhaust stuff. So the noise is coming from the rear end, when the car is driven hard or when its just hot, the sound is more aggressive. When u come to a stop and push the clutch in, go to put it into first gear, before you go in there is a single thump coming from the rear. You can feel the thump not just hear it. It only happens after you intially push in the clutch..so if i dont let out the clutch and go into first again it wont happen but if I let the clutch out and push it back in and go towards first itll thump again. Any ideas whats going on? Is it normal?

Is this your first RWD car? I believe the noise your hearing is the LSD engaging yes this is normal. You wont hear it the second time as its already engaged. I would recommend a fluid change if your running original fluid. Something like Redline 90t or Motul is your best bet.

It's more likely the two piece driveshaft unloading rather than the LSD. I have never heard of a plate style limited slip diff like the Trak lok making noise in a straight line. The Detroit locker in my truck? Sure, but not the T-Lok. There just isn't anything to hit anything else and make noise in the LSD setup.

Well, doughnuts can definitely beat the **** out of your LSD, particularly the spider gears inside it. They can beat the **** out of other things too, like the joints in the driveshaft. Good luck with Ford....

I have some type of constant noise when driving my 14 GT and I can't figure out if it's my rear end, drive shaft carrier bearing or tire noise. The Ford dealer keeps saying it's tire noise and won't do anything else. I'm not about to spend $1,000 or more to see if they are right. I guess I'm going to have to take it to a different dealer. It's so bad that I can't stand to drive the car unless I have the radio up or the windows down. It's pissed me off to the point where I quit driving the car about three weeks ago. Ford dealers suck.

That sounds bad! Sorry to hear you cant enjoy your car anymore. The mechanic came out with me and listened to the noises and explained to me that it was just the transmission working and it's normal. The transmissions in these cars are really noisy.

My transmission is an automatic and it doesn't sound like a transmission noise. It almost sounds like the noise is coming from the middle of the car but I'm not sure. All I know is that I hate it and no one seems to want to help me find out the cause. Definitely takes the enjoyment out of this car.

Hopefully you can get yours fixed.
