I'm going straight to hell. I have an automatic to boot. I'm a double looser. V6 and automatic. I knew God was a V8 enthusiast. Curses man, I'm screwed! I better get a V8 Stat!

Honestly, Ford should even offer a V6 model for a Mustang. V8 only or go buy a Jap sports car. To make matters worse I modded mine and it's still a crappy V6.

You know it's hard to be a V6 owner when the V6 guys are over here in the V8 forum eye hustling.

That's the truth bro. Heck, I'm so freaking upset about this whole buying a V6 thing and then modding the ball sack out of it. I feel horrible and like a little girly man.

If you understand either satire or irony, you may better understand those V6 owners who visit here and berate themselves.
How about if the GT and above forums require a VIN that actually has a V8 in it before being allowed to post here? Now, THAT should start a fire storm, right?

V6 owners that talk nonsense... That's a whole other story. Their claims of v6 being a better platform is plain ignorance. Trying to convince them that they're wrong is like trying to convince my 5 year old to eat is veggies.

When it comes to mustangs the GT and up models are the best. Im a V6 owner and the thought of it being faster or better than a GT is not in my vocabulary. Ive owned several mustangs which only two of them where V6's.
1. 1985gt
2. 1986gt hard top and a vert
3. 1988gt vert
4. 1990gt hard top
5. 1991lx 5.0 hard top
6. 1992lx 5.0 vert
7. 1993lx coupe 4cylinder to 5.0 swap
8. 1996gt hard top non pi
9. 1996gt hard top 2001 gt motor swap
101996 mystic cobra
11.1998 3.8 coupe hard top
12.2006gt vert premium
13.2014 base 3.7 manual

I bought my 2014 for a daily driver for 18,900 brand new. Hard to pass it up, could've afforded the GT but didnt want to get off the extra cash for it. Yes a GT would've been nice to have but with three kids in private school I'll take the 3.7 and fiddle with it for now.

One just sold on the FB group I belong to. It was $10k and had a big wreck on the carfax but NOT salvaged and the kicker was that insurance had literally just paid for a full blown brand new Mystic paintjob at the dealer. Car looked brand new because the owner was a nutcase about the repairwork. Car got snapped up REAL fast...

Man, I feel better already after reading your post to me. I appreciate the kind words and heck no I ain't serious. Ba ha ha ha! I love my freaking 3.7. It's perfect too me and love everything about that pony. I wouldn't trade her for a 5.0 no way. I'm the world's 3.7 defender bro.

Maybe add a 5.0 to the stable but love my 3.7. It's bad a$$ looking and fast enough to get my juices flowing. Heck, I don't even need my Viagra when I'm rolling in my 3.7. 😂

The 3.7 is a lower performance vehicle than the 5.0 and lower platform but the 3.7 still offers amazing performance for the price and a good solid platform should someone want to build on. If I desire for my power I would just boost my 3.7 before getting a 5.0 but that's just me.

This is my love next comes my dog, children and wife. Ba ha ha ha! 3.7 power baby! 3.7 V6 power fellas. 😉

I test drove a 2015 V6 manual. I have to say the lighter weight up front, and the surprising power, made me think twice. Then I drove the GT.

If any V8 owner wants to trade (like for like) for my V6 let me know. I'll cover transit and even buy lunch.

And never looked back, right? I still however marvel at Ford's marketing of the newest V6. NO options available renders it a choice almost no savvy consumer would make or want --- other than Hertz, National and Enterprise, of course.
As good as the V6 Camaro seems to be (it is getting GREAT reviews), and available with the best suspensions and interiors....makes me just go HUH? with Ford's plan.

And every new Mustang rolls down the same assembly line with all the optional equipment right there for them. Wouldn't be hard to offer a leather interior/Premium package, 50th package, or CS, and PP on the V6. I WOULD absolutely have considered this combination for our 2015 convertible.
Smokey burn outs ARE fun of course --- but so is 31 mpg on regular gas. Insurance costs would probably be half the GT too. FORD!.....just think about offering a fully loaded V6 Mustang for mid 30's! It would be a Camaro killer.
My 1997 Cobra "only" had 305 HP -- and I thought it "adequate" at the time.......

They won't because they are pushing ecoboom. Just get a base for cheap and customize it if you really wanted to. Base model gets a ton of stuff.

That's because ford knows who the v6 consumer is.

I "think" Ford's game plan is to eventually not make the V8 and only offer various versions of the turbo V6 and 4 cylinder engines. They want to be a global car manufacturer don't ya know! lol

Agreed. I'd rather have a powerful NA car than a turboed one making the same power. More things can go wrong on a boosted car and can cause headaches.

Still love the sound of a 2.5EJ though.

Yep, the one and only year there was no V8 option for the Mustang was, 1974, first year of the Mustang II. That didn't last long.

An almost equally unhappy time was 1980, when the 302 was dropped in favour of the misbegotten 255.

Heck, who doesn't love the V8? I sure do! We all love the V8. The real question is this for many. Does someone have enough love for the V8 to spend the extra $$$$ to buy the V8.

That's excellent sir. Congratulations on saving for exactly what you wanted. For many we can already afford the higher end model but just not willing to spend for it. The higher end model just isn't important enough for some. We rather spend the money else where on other things or other areas of the lower model vehicle.

I think the 5.0 was and is freaking awesome and loved it when I bought my 3.7. I just wasn't willing to spend the extra $7,500 for the 5.0 because it wasn't important enough too me. It still isn't.

Congrats on getting the car you wanted.

Congratulations on being retired. My father is retired and he needed to SC his 5.0 so I completely understand where you're coming from. I'm not retired just yet so I don't need a V8 as much. 😎
