Things I hate about my car

So I was wondering what would cause these issues.

When shifting into 2nd and letting off clutch and accelerating, I can feel the tranny/torque bumping into the shifter like it's hitting it. What might cause this?

When shifting into 2nd, it feels like I'm hitting resistance. When car is off shifting is perfect no matter how much force I use, I wonder if it's the 2-piece drive shaft causing the issue.

Now this issue is the worst of them. Giving gas or decelerating, the car isn't smooth, it's like it's thumping forward and off the gas it bumpy.

I know it's the not the shifter since I have an MGW shifter. I get locked out of 4th gear on power shifts. That's crazy.

I'm in the process if trying to get a better tune for the car to see if it helps anything.

All in all, this is cause to get an automatic. Wish I had known how crappy the mustang manual trans is. It's pretty bad.

The tune would help the smoothness of the decelerating and accelerating depending on who you get it tuned by. I have mine tuned by AED and its smooth unless the AC is on, then it thumps forward a little. ALso, the transmission is really noisy, the two piece driveshaft clunks a lot.

Mine is not a V8 but has the MT-82 trans. I installed the Barton shifter bracket and the Whiteline transmission bushing insert and my similar issues are resolved. I did modify the trans bushing to reduce the added vibration.

I think I'll try the whiteline trans bushing. Maybe it'll fix some issues.

I finally just got the Tremec T56 Magnum transmission. If I did again I might do an auto just because its easier and faster lol. I do love to shift and truly drive the car. I did like the Race Spec MGW.

Side note. I was noticing some of the same things and I was diagnosed with a Synchro gear going out. thus the Tremec over rebuild

I just put in a Blowfish Racing shift mount last week. Like the Race Spec MGW, it mounts the shifter onto the trans instead of the body where torque twist binds up the shifter. Won't know how it is on the track until next month, but it's a lot better on the street. Occasionally I feel it buzzing/vibrating, but haven't really noticed any sound issues.

for my V6 the biggest help in shifting was motor mounts (tied with learning the tight gates) I did fluid, started with bracket then went to MGW, clutchline. the disadvantage is their is a good bit more NVH but I really like them

I'm thinking motor mounts, drive shaft and blowfish racing mounts would solve issues with this car, it's pretty bad when the car requires so much work brand new, almost comical.

I avoided a stick because of all the problems and did not want to spend money making it how it should be. Yea I made my buddy get his 370z in stick and taught him and now get crap for going auto, and from dumb random people but at least I avoided that headache

Yeah, I agree....Auto's are faster but there's nothing that can replace the feeling of shifting gears. I got talked into buying a 2014 GT with an Auto that has the paddle shifter on the gear shift handle. The paddle shifter is useless unless on the Freeway & it's not much fun without the clutch. I guess it all depends on what you like to drive. I've had about 10 Mustangs & all were sticks till this one. I love the car itself....but sure am missing shifting gears.

Oh in case you're wondering...I had 10 Mustangs because I use to buy them, fix them up & turn them for a profit when I was out of work during the recession. Kept me afloat for a year
& Mustangs sell fast. Most of them I only drove for 4 - 6 weeks while fixing them up & then sold them. Only 4 that were actually mine to keep.

Good move! Stick is not bad if everything worked the way it should.
