When do you guys return car to stock

I have to drop my car off soon for airbag recall and i also got one about a sensor that could drop the car to 1st randomly so might get that done same time. Im offroad pipes and jist wondering if i should go back to stock to drop car off. Dealer is only 2 mins from my house but the lady on phone said something about the 2nd recall being a programming thing. Im just curious if i should go back stock or not worry. I know im over thinking it but just need reassurance I wont get locked out of tuner lol

Tell them not to flash your car, but a "Do not flash" OBDII cover or leave your tuner plugged in.

Put it back to stock before you take the car in...easy to do and better safe than sorry.

TN has a good point, at least put a piece of tape on the port and talk to them. If they re-flash it with tune on it = bad

You do not have to return to stock to have recall work done. However, since they are working with the transmission I'm not sure if they'll need to reflash anything. I'd speak with the service manager and see what that recall involves, if they have to play with the computer, flash back to stock before they do it.

The letter I received from Ford said it was a software problem so I would go back to stock tune before taking it in.
I have no problems with my transmission, It shifts crisp and I hope it is still as good as it is after they reprogram my CPU.

They never said anything about a software update for my 2012 auto when I had it in for the airbag inflator recently.

The software update isn't for the airbag, there are other recalls coming out that the transmission will sometimes slip into 1st while driving in automatics. To fix this issue the shifting is all determined by the computer which means they will have to reflash something.

I understand. Just saying, they never mentioned anything when I had it in last week.

Funny thing, I never experienced this problem in the 3 years I owned the car. Last weekend, we went on a long trip up north. One time, and one time only, I noticed my car drop to first and then back out. I thought I was going nuts. Forgot all about it until I read this. Might be a valid recall.

Like NolDevin said, just give them a call and see if they will be doing a flash. If so, let them know to notate your work order and then put that tape over the port.
