Did the Hellkitty trap 121? If so, that is the slowest hellcat I have ever seen. Most trap around 124 - 128 MPH.

Still good run in your Mustang. Any idea what your 1/8 was? Looked like it came off the line nicely.

Yep, 121. Even with auto, you still need to know what you are doing and, the air wasn't great that night either. I too, have seen many Hellcats do better than this guy did, at this same track. He seemed to be trying hard but, maybe I had him demoralized, lol.

1/8th was ok, 7.42 at 96.58. The car still leaves too soft, bc of the stock torque converter. 1.7 60 here. Obviously I can still cut an ok light, which was the source of the win here.

6.4 pounds/hp for the Hellcat v. 8-9 pounds/hp for an unassisted Mustang should make this no contest for the Hellcat...even with 100 shot like I'm using here, I'm still down on power to weight compared to the HC and, that's where I needed to beat him at the lights and I did.

Well, I may just up the shot to 150 and shoot for 10s on my stock car; I figure if the 100 took a second off, the additional 50 may give me the 1/2 need for 10s

I have no experience at 1/4 mile racing but I thought reaction time was not included in the ET. Thought the start of the ET was tripped by the sensor at the start line.

Reaction time determines who left first when the lights go down. I dropped-kicked this guy and that's what often wins races, not the ultimate ET each car pulls.

If I saw the times correctly, the Hellcat was faster. You outperformed the Charger though. They had to run you down, and ran out of room.

Just trying to clarify what is and is not included in the ET.
I watched the hellcats auto's do 10's with no problem. So that doesn't include reaction time.

I wouldn't say it's "no problem". You need to be switched on and running a sticky tire. The power is there but, putting it to the track right still needs some talent. We have a lot of Hellkitties at my local track, still haven't seen a 10 and they have sticky DRs or slicks frequently. Someone's going to do it though, it's only a matter of time and practice. Most guys owning this car are middle aged to elderly like me and don't rag on their cars that much. Me, I'll race anything I have.

I was referring to the AUTO hellcat that raced with "medwards".
The manual hellcat had some problems but the auto didn't.

I believe they all had track redials.

Right out of the hole...which freaks out the ecm a bit because the stock converter stall is so low and thus the load on the motor is very high. It pulled a few degrees of timing in first gear but, pushed it back in by second.

Absolutely. He was dozing and I wasn't as much. I've beaten plenty of faster, hgher powered cars this way in decades of drag racing. I wish the car would 60 foot faster but, the torque converter prevents that so, I try to be on my game at the lights at least.

Looking through my slips, I did actually do a bit better than this on one pass. Couple more mph and a couple thou better E/T. This was the fourth hit from the bottle so, about 2/3rds empty at that point. I can get 6 hits out of a ten pounder on 100. They do get generally a tetch slower with each pass, as the bottle level drops.

I'm going 150 next time out, that'll likely be only 4 passes but, I'll likely get the finger wag for no cage before I complete 4.
