Picked up 2011 GT Track pack

Howdy .. new member from Houston area. Picked up a cherry 2011 track pack with only 16k miles and bone stock. This is my 4th mustang. Past cars were 1987 5.0 5-speed vert. 2001 GT 5 speed. 2008 Bullitt ( long tubes and cams ) and now the 2011 Coyote. Im really familiar with mustang and want to do some mods to this one. I was thinking about starting with electric exhaust cut outs ... mainly because i leave for work at 2 am and dont want to disturb the neighbors. Anyone have some good reviews with cut outs ? Thanks guys. Looking forward to playing with this car.

looks like a nice ride.....I've never used cutouts but I worry about moving parts in that harsh of an environment.

That's a Brembo Brake Package car, not a Track Pack. Track Pack doesn't materialise until 2013.

A good quality electric cutout will be fine. Just don't cheap out and you'll be ok. Look around a read reviews and you should be safe. If it were me, I'd start with a tune and tuner. The factory tune on 2011-12 cars sucks; there is lots on the table there.

Yeah the 2011-2012 didnt get the seats or the radiator the 2013-2014 got. Pretty much shares all of the suspension and brake parts from the "track pack" minus the radiator and seats. I was curious about the stock tune .. glad you mentioned that . I wasnt sure how much could be coaxed out of a stocker with just a tuner.

Well, it's also short the torsen rear end and the oil heater from the Track Pack.

I got 11s at 115 out of a loaded bbp car, on a 91 octane tune and a sticky tire.

Congratulations. Looks like a really nice piece.
Don't have anything good to say about cut outs.

A good tune makes it a different animal. I'd say makes it more like an animal. You won't regret it for sure!

Track pac cars did not include seats. Only differences as stated were Torsen diff with 3.73 gears, boss radiator and oil cooler.

You do have a really nice car and I love the White!
Just to set the record straight...I have a friend with a low mile very late build 2011 GT and it come with Brembo brakes, 3:73 rearend, 6spd...it also has the engine oil cooler along with a larger radiator...it's a Premium GT with 6spd and was very close to my 14 TrakPak with the exception of the Boss 302 core support and finned aluminum cover on the rear end. When we changed the springs when lowering the car with Eibach Pro's, the numbers on the springs couldn't be identified by my Ford parts manager friend...Ford has always done some very funny stuff during manufacturing late cars...just like a lot of people said I didn't have a 271hp 289 in my 64 Comet Cyclone w/4spd...when I took it apart is was a real deal 289 HiPro...

Closer Look at the 2010 Mustang GT Track Pack option

My 14 TrakPak had the Boss 302 Core Support, Boss 302 radiator, Boss 302 oil cooler..the motor used 5/50 wt oil just like the Boss 302, it had different struts, springs and shocks and came with 3.73's under the aluminum cover and the rear axle was totally painted black...it also had the Recaro option.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like I will start with a tune for the stock set up. I really want to jump straight into longtubes/cams like I did with the Bullitt but that was with no kids ( now 2 ) and a not so quiet neighborhood. Things have changed but my car modding brain has not .. trying to find a way to keep myself and the neighbors happy !

If you retain your resonators and go with a catted mid-pipe, Long-Tubes and reasonable axle-backs (GT500's) it won't cause your neighbors any angst. It will however still sound like a beefy powerhouse when romping on it.

Found out something cool... My gears didn't feel like the 3.31 that was supposed to be with the car . Found out thru some Google searches that from the factory there is a sticker on the diff stating the ratio that was installed ...found the sticker and I have 3.55...... Awesome

You are going to love those gears!!! Nice compromise between the 3.31 and 3.73.

Another stripe delete car. My Red 2012 is also a S/D model. I have been considering adding stripes.

I didn't realize they were that rare. Never paid that much attention to be honest but now that you mention it I like the clean lines .

I'm not totally convinced yet. I'm still considering putting stripes on it.
