They actually sell a spray solvent that is specifically formulated for cleaning MAF sensors. I have always just used carb cleaner on throttle bodies.

I removed my TB to clean the carbon buildup, had no issues at all. Just make sure that the O-Ring is properly seated if you take it off.

Don't use carb clean, it's too aggressively caustic for TB or maf use Use maf cleaner, it's effective enough and totally safe. Unless you are encountering idling or low speed drive ability issues, it's probably unnecessary.

I've personally cleaned my own MAF with MAF cleaner. No issues.

I'm surprised a 2013 would need a MAF cleaning unless you have high mileage or a problem with your air filter.

Ah, maybe you are running a K & R filter. I had one in a 2012. Didn't like it and switched back to paper.

Or you have an aftermarket cold air intake.

I haven't found anything better than the stock air box and the paper filter. I was surprised that the paper filters are not that expensive here.

The oiled filters are a pain in the ***.
