The Manual 6 transmission on the early years had issues I have heard. Plenty of information regarding the MT82 problems for those early years. Personally own a 14 and never had a problem,

Just be patient man, the right one will pop up. Don't settle, you'll regret it later and be looking to upgrade again.

I'm fine thanks. Your comment added zero value to this thread. I assume you're around 18 years old based on the maturity level of your comments.

Explosions are normal. In this application, the explosions turn chemical energy into mechanical energy, allowing the vehicle to propel forwards (or backwards,)

if you are experiencing other explosions, see your doctor.
(...or blame your dog...)

2011 GTs have any known issues?

Yes a few. And it is an 11

Lund tune switched from bama 2 weeks ago.

Air raid CAI, boss 302 IM, Bbk headers with off road x, gt500 axlebacks with no resonators.

Koni yellow strut and shocks, BMR lcas, uca, panhand Bar, relocation brackets, lowering springs. Gt500 strut mounts.

MGW shifter, a rear seat delete and that's about it

2011 specifically, lets see...
Electric steering sometimes freaks out if you change the front control arms or bushings, or sometimes with very wide front wheels and tires. Especially if you do both.
Early aftermarket tunes caused damage to cylinder #8, make sure it wasn't tuned right away
if its a manual, at the very least it needs a trans fluid change.
You'll probably lust after 2013 headlights and tail lights

Not 2011 specific:
You'll probably want to do an MGW shifter right away if it doesn't have one already
stock clutch is hit or miss if you try to rev above 7k or add significant power
may or may not have various different types of engine tick, some harmful, most not.
Rear axle might leak. If it has 3.73s they'll probably whine.
Unless you plan on running tiny drag wheels up front get the Brembos, they're worth it.

Some 2011 and 12 models did have number 8 cylinder issues.

Sent from a non car enthusiast V6 mustang owner's cell phone.

Agreed with all this except I'll add that the stock brake pads even on the brembo brakes are crap. Get performance pad they are really noticeably better.

I can agree with that. The brembos are still a worthy upgrade either way. They should be a standard item (and pretty much are on the 2015+, minus branding)

The only issue I've had with my 2011 is the driver seat belt had to be replaced, the clasp on the lower part jambed. Ford replaced it no questions asked. Otherwise, replace the stock shifter and unplug the skip-shift module. And try not to have a BSEG every time you drive it...

I bought a 2011 after selling my Notchback 5.0 5speed fox body to have kids. Now, a decade later and having three kids, it was used for me. I almost didn't pull the trigger because I read about so many issues. I think a lot of issues are over-reported and overblown. The tick, blown #8 (some early cars and some early tunes mostly), the shifter (ok it is bad), etc.. There are a lot of people out there withOUT issues that don't go online to post about how great a deal they got on their used S197 5.0. (I'm happy I bought mine!) The S197 5.0 is the best bang for buck car out there IMO. Looks, performance, and cost in a great package.

I bought a 6speed 3.73 car and the manual shifter is pretty bad. Since mine is a daily and I don't drag or road race, I put in an SR Performance bracket and haven't had a missed shift since. Now 4th gear sounds solid. The only other issue I've had is that my seat motor broke that raises the front of the seat.

The real issues are that for some reason I have a constant screeching from the rear when I accelerate. Tire wear is really poor too! Gas mileage is terrible. And I keep getting pulled over and ticketed. My pocketbook is lighter because of moddiction. These are the real issues that no one talks about.

I picked this one up with about 18k miles. Had all the options I wanted in the color combo of my preference. Race Red on Black. Everyone knows red is the fastest color, duh.

What timing ... now that my 2011 has 20k miles it recently started to have a whirring sound at idle after I have been driving it for a while. It is not there at startup or while im driving ( that I can hear ) but at idle after a 20 minute commute it is present. Anyone had something similar ? The closer I get to the motor it sounds like it is in the front of the motor like maybe a bearing on an pulley.

Not on at startup, but comes on at idle when the car is warmed up? Cooling fan(s) maybe?
