Hey guys new to this thread I just got a 2017 5.0 I did a muffler delete wasn't pleased with the sound so I decided to resonator delete with pipes going straight back no x or h pipe and left the cats , I've read allot about burnt exhaust valves because of straight pipes now my question is this am I at risk for burning valves if I have my cats and if it's true is that only possible if it's straight pipes straight through with no cats ?
You should not delete the x or h pipe, they actually help with power via scavenging.
I've not heard of anyone burning valves in a coyote, but you may run into air/fuel or cat issues if your O2 sensors aren't placed correctly in the custom piping.
And you will definitely lose power without the x or h pipe.
I have an offroad x with res and muffler deletes. I havent heard of any issues besides what others think your car will sound like. I havent had mine for too long and dont recall the exact mileage but I havent ran into any problems besides a hanger squeaking. What made you ditch the midpiping for straight pipe from there?

OP said he did not remove\replace cats, so unless he cut the pipes before the rear O2 sensor, should be no relocation and even then, that o2 sensor strickly looks at cat efficiency. So it is unlikely that relocation of these might do any harm other than potentially cause some DTC's. Installation of long tubes with catted x or h-pipes routinely relocates the rear o2 sensor with no adverse effects.

Midpipes provided with longtubes typically have some kind of testing behind them to ensure the O2s will function correctly.
The car uses the rear O2s to recalibrate the fronts periodically. Best case nothing happens. Worst case, you kill the cats or throw off your AFR.
You can also place the bungs for the O2 sensors too low and cause them to go bad due to moisture, this happens on a few certain headers, especially with E85.
But all that aside, the car will sound like crap and lose a fair amount of power without a proper x or h midpipe. There is no good reason to run straight pipes all the way back.
The only excuse for a true straight pipe system would be a very high end turbo setup where it pays to just dump the exhaust off the turbo as quickly as possible. And in that case you would just dump it out the hood, bumper, or before the mid pipe.
The notion of Burnt Valves comes from running too lean!.. With a 2017 and Just straight pipes you will not do that!.. Though I wouldn't go without a H or X Mid-pipe!.. As others have said it helps with the Scavenging Affect for the exhaust!.. I also wouldn't do away with the Cats without a proper tune!.. You won't maximize the Exhaust setup without it!..
Alright guys thanks for the reply , but I like my car to be loud so here's my question will a x pipe tone down my straight pipe ?? Or will it be the same loudness ???
The h or x pipe won't tone it down much if at all, but it will sound and run better. If you want more loudness you can remove the cats and even add headers.
Jimmy, I have a 2013 5.0. I am almost conpletely straight piped but not the way tou want to be. I have longtube headers, off road x pipe (cat deletes), stock over axle pipe (resonated) and muffler deletes. It is very very loud according to others. Do not leave out the mid pipe, other than losing power, you will lose tone and volume. Going either x or h pipe, there will be some type of vibration collision going on between the left header exhaust and the right, which is good. More vibrations means more volume and tone. Remove your cats if you want to be real loud.
