Last night I turned my car on I have a 2017 mustang gt 5.0 and when I let it warm up I accelerated while in park and held it for a little I hear a strange little ticking clinking sound coming from the engine only when I held the acceleration I got no check engines also I have straight pipes with stock cats comes from the engine the sound my brother and friends with 5.0 GT said. Not to worry no check engine just that annoying sound I only have 800 miles on it it's aggravating I. Noticed it last night after cold starting it any clues to what it may be should I worry ???
I'm not trying to be a smart a**, but how can you hear anything like a small ticking with those straight pipes? Could be all that racket just from the pipes.
Some say there is no such thing as a stupid question, but there are certainly useless answers.
OP, are you sure it is not mechanical resonance of the pipes? Mine do that at low RPM <1500RPM. It's really annoying, but now that I know what it is, I may try to brace it somehow.
