Just found this thread, as I use Matco 8 mm or 5/16" spacers on all 4 corners on my last two ponies. 14 Cyclone & now my 16 GT with oem wheels. No problems except I need an alignment now.
The key is you need at least 7-8 turns on the lug nut for it to be safe. Any less and you risk losing a wheel. Typically anything over 5mm won't give you enough lug engagement
Yeah, I'm running on 8mm in front right now and I don't feel safe lol. I never trust wheel spacers. Plan to order 3mm real soon. Just enough to clear my brembos.
