Question Fitment of 20x10 Front Wheels?

Hey everyone, sorry if we're beating a dead horse here but I haven't been able to find exactly what I'm looking for searching the forums or google.

I'm finally ready to start buying mods for my black 2014 GT and want to start in the wheel, tire and suspension department. My heart is pretty well set on the AMR Dark Stainless wheels and I'm leaning toward Mickey Thompson Street Comps for the rubber.

Originally I had planned to go staggered, 20x8.5 in front and 20x10 in the back with 255/35r20 and 305/35r20 tires respectively. In researching this setup, I started seeing suggestions that you can actually run 20x10 wheels on all 4 corners with the right setup.. well maybe, because others seem to suggest it won't work. This appeals to me, as I had been wanting to squeeze a 275/35r20 on the front, but the 8.5" AMR wheels are just a pinch too narrow for comfortable fitment. If you can, in fact, run a 10" wheel on the front, it would happily hold a 275 and I would be grinning from ear to ear.

As I mentioned, the wheels are AMR 20x10" with a convex profile and a +48mm offset. Are any of you guys running a similar setup? Do you know what the main issues are to look out for? My intentions are to follow up the wheels and tires with an Eibach Pro-Street coil over kit for full adjustment of ride height.

I could even purchase them at the same time or wait until I have it all before installation of the height adjustment is necessary before installing the wheels. I'm just getting a bit nervous wondering if the coil overs would end up interfering with the wide wheels/tires up front. If it's mostly a matter of shaving down a bolt then I'm not worried, but if it starts getting into major clearance issue territory I may abandon ship and stick with an 8.5" wheel up front.

I'll be following your Thread. I would like to run 10 wide wheels on the front too

20x10 will likely need modifications to be able to claim "ghetto fabulous" for your ride.

Do you know who has the 20x10 setup? I would go directly to them and ask what they have done (if anything). I believe Roush offers 20x9.5 on 2015 - 2018 Mustangs, so that is getting closer to what you want.

I had the same problem trying to verify fitment in general - wheel and tire fitment on a lowered car is like voodoo.

So I opted for 18x10 front, and 18x11 rear from Vorshlag Motorsports with Forgestar F14's. Vorshlag Motorsports pioneered 18x11 square setup on a 2" lowered car with no major modifications. They do suggest a Watts Link for the 18x11 rear though if you are going to heavily track the car (or adjustable panhard bar for a street car).

I have a 2014 Roush Stage 2. Running the 20x9.5 on all 4 corners with 275/35R20 Cooper Xeon RS3 tires. Coopers look a lot like the MT you are looking at, but have heard the rubber is much better. Also if you look around you can get them for about $190 a tire. Good looking sticky tires. Like the way they handle. I have about 16k on mine and rubber is about half down. Not sure if a 10" will fit the front. You might need a spacer to make it work. But 9.5 will work...

Thank you everyone for your input thus far! From what I've seen here and in searching more and more the past few days, it seems like those who have put 10" wide wheels up front without modifications were either very lucky or neglected to mention other possible changes that facilitated a proper fitment. I haven't given up hope yet, but I do have a solid 'Plan B' in the Niche Verona wheels which are offered in a 20x9 for the front.

I am running 20x10 +40 Downforce wheels. I had to use a 5mm spacer up front for the center caps to fit. I am running 275/35 Continental DW tires. No rubbing anywhere. Lowered on BMR handling springs, Koni yellows. Hope this helps!

Nice! Looks good and your total spacing is right in the same neighborhood as the AMR wheels. Certainly sounds promising!
