Both LOST power above 5500 RPMS compared to stock. Yes, lost power and tq. Max power stock was 363 rwhp, after installing performance v2 was 356, and with race v2, was 361. MPG also went down about 2 MPG.
I was asked to Datalog on Tuesday, sent it in, they reviewed and asked for a second datalog. Sent it late Tuesday. As of now, there’s still no response from BAMA, over 48 hrs later. Not even an email update to say “Hey we’re working on it, we’ll keep you updated. You should have your tune by next Tuesday.” Or something along those lines. It’s just plain bad service to leave your customers hanging, their questions unanswered.
So, to recap: SLOW customer service, decreased MPG, and tunes that LOST power. What’s the point of spending your hard earned dough with a company like that. No thanks! I’m done with them.
Bama is dog**** as a remote tuner? Whoda thunk it lol. Sucks that so many ppl don't find this out until later. My tuner also mentioned to me how many cars he has to re-tune that had AM tunes on them.
AED will do you right. Just be prepared for a lot more back and forth and like 8-10 tune revisions if they are OCD about getting everything SPOT ON like my tuner was.
I'd be floored if they honestly even try. Even if they come in and try to make it right, they basically have to admit they screwed up from the beginning and will have to hold a tuner accountable. That wont happen.
Yes, I know. It's right around the Corner. I have a friend that has A Steeda Work up done to his Stang. His is a 98 GT, but I had Recommendations for Mustang Specialties and I was not interested in a Steeda Tune. Incidentally, my Stang has a few Steeda Parts on it. My Intake is a Steeda Intake "Carbon Fiber High Flow Elbow", My 1 piece Aluminum Drive Shaft is from Steeda even though it's a FRPP part.
I think the Dyno Shop is playing tricks on me, to get me to buy an in house tune from them.
Stock on their dyno showed 364 HP, 312 TQ.
BAMA, revisions 1,2 and 3 showed 351, 350, and 352 HP and 330, 327, 332 TQ, with power dropping off at 5800 RPM.
Interestingly, my AED tune, which had cleaner datalogs than BAMA (no knock, higher timing) showed 353 HP and 322 TQ with power drop off at - you guessed it - 5800 RPM. Same numbers as the BAMA tunes, no gains over stock, and drop off at 5800 again. ??[emoji848]
I think they are doing something during the pulls to fudge the numbers in their favor. Like not giving it enough throttle, or otherwise playing with the graphs. Just seems highly suspicious to me that four different tunes (from 2 companies) would show the same numbers and the same pattern of drop off at 5800. Especially when almost everyone I’ve read/talked to says they’ve gained HP with AED compared to stock.
I thought my engine was going to blow on those 2 runs that were done. I seen many 5.0s start declining at 6700-6900 RPMs.
Both runs were pretty consistent. The only alteration to the environment were 3 fans to the radiator. Every dyno is different so I do believe data is not 100% accurate but I think those are pretty "OK' numbers for a bone stock car.
yes BAMAs 93 Octane Race fuel like 4 years ago. I just started to run them again about 6-7 months ago and they feel pretty good. Haven't done a dyno run in a while.
Bama tunes arn't doing the job. I have some friends that have had bad experiences from them. Where i'm from in northern cali AEDHP are highly recommended. Id suggest to look around your local area to get your car tune a little bit more pricey but worth every buck!
Hey guys! Very interesting information throughout the wole discussion. My Stang is a 2011 V6 Premium which I do use as a daily driver over here in Germany where I do live at. Unfortunately I also did step into the AM trap with BAMA tunes as they do a quite well merchandise and Mustang support/parts/stuff isn't easy to get over here as the up to 2016 Stangs never have been sold in Germany and they're all imported. I got my tuner and the lifetime tunes from BAMA while my last stay in the U.S. The major intention was to get to the 93 Octane rating as 93 Octane fuel is the regular grade (lowest avail) over here and I thought it might make sense to get to that rating when putting that fuel in anyway. Fortunately - after reading that all - time was against me to install it to my car yet. As far as I understood now is - I may use the tuner device itself though to load up tunes (DVDs ? ...) from any other supplier? Does it make sense at all (do the other tuning companies offer "remote/e-mailed" tunes at all?? Or does it always need a physical run on a dyno? That a dyno-tuned car is the best way to tune a car -> no need for discussion! Unfortunately dynos are not that common and often over here and - as said before - Stang support and knowledge is very rare. So if you'd like to get some more response from your car over here you best get a "remote tune" from some good recommended Stang specialist. Finally the intention of my posting -> is there at all any serious tuner you can recommend that offers such tunes without bringing my car back to the U.S. ? ?
