Spares 2017 GT

Hi Folks. I was so pleased with my Mustang when it arrived in the UK March 2017 but now I find that Ford cannot supply spares for it. Heated front seat not working and the module has been on order since November with no ETA even in sight. Now the check engine light comes on and the car goes into limp home mode with a throttle pedal error. New part ordered mid December but same again. It is on back order with no ETA. This is not what I expected from Ford when I bought their "Halo" top of the range car. On researching it seems that this is a common problem with Fords at the moment with cars being off the road for months on end waiting on parts. In the UK this convertable fully loaded cost me $60,000 so not a cheap car. Any comments anyone? Any suggestions on how to escalate this to someone who cares?

is there a EU contact? Look in the owners manual.....Now is the time to bribe your service dealer with cookies (or Scotch)

good luck

Thanks for reply. The dealer is not the problem but it appears that Fords do not hold spares any more and have to source each part from their suppliers when needed. This is what gives the ridiculas delays.

Horrible.

In the Sates I kick this situation up to the next level - "let me speak with your supervisor" - if stalled during the climb up the corporate ladder I will (politely then sternly) reinforce my desire to have my complaint heard until I reach the person who offers a positive solution.

Good luck with your situation.

Depending upon the options you don't get a spare tire. The spare tire wheels won't clear certain brakes - and the tire well isn't big enough to put a larger wheel and tire in.

Thanks Oxfordwhite. After making the post I did contact the CRC as you have suggested and it immediately got action. The throttle pedal (most important) was imediately express delivered to my dealer. Still waiting for update on heated seat module. The throttle pedal was especially important as when it failed (usually when you put your foot down) the engine faltered and the car decelerated as if you had braked hard then picked up after displaying the useful (NOT) message "See Manual" and lighting the check engine spanner.
