COIL PACKS

So its time to upgrade my ignition system a bit and I am starting by getting laser iridium spark plugs, Coil packs and wires for the 2013 5.0. Any recommendations? I am eyeballing these.

• Granatelli Hot Street Coil Pack
• GMS 4V Street Fighter Coil Pack

really? i'll have to do more homework to see why they may not be required.

Spark plugs are a must for sure but just looking to feel the power when cranking the engine. I had somewhat of LAG and now that I am on E85 it feels longer. Kinda like a real Drag car.

Lag is in the tune. Coil packs are a waste on a stock motor. Save your money. What mods do you have now. Also what tune?

Long tubes running straight out of cutouts. Airaid Intake and E85 on the exhaust and motor. 4.10 rear!

Had Lund Tuned it for a while until my E85 Tune at idle was up and down 200 RPMs. I then switched back to BAMA to see if theirs was different and NOPE, it does the same.

Just thought I dropped the thread since lots of companies providing these Coil packs claim 10-15 HP/TQ on the install. Seems a little KooKoo but not bad for $350 if its true.

Your stock coil packs are more than u will ever need. Replacing them is a waste. If u want more h.p look into cobra jet intake manifold. Cams. throttle body. Nitrous. Forced induction.

I would be looking at AED for your tune. I would never go with Bama for your combo.

Coil packs will only help you if you're replacing a dead one

Alright alright....thanks for the tips. They sound very convincing when everyone in youtube records their dynos and show a 6-10 HP gain throughout the curve but no MAX HP gain at all. Then again, it may all be BS.

Car is getting a little old. 75K on the motor already so a manifold might be the only thing I add in it.

Just get it into your head that about 80% of the stuff advertised as "bolt on power" gives 0... nothing. Its almost ALL snake oil. Get a manifold, get a shifter, get gears, suspension and good tune and go. If you are auto then leave the gears alone and get a good stall converter.

Also as far as Granatelli products... STAY AWAY. Dude's control arms almost killed someone years ago and he still won't accept responsibility. Anything Granatelli sells is just a **** copy of another company's product. If you are going to get cheaper copy parts at least get UPR or SVE...

I agree the snake oil is rampant! Accel or MSD or stock coil packs. I just bought springs for lowering and as Eibach makes most all of the brands springs I got SVE progressive's due to price and they are made by Eibach for LMR here in Texas. House brand.

Yes to SVE. Hell no to MSD. Accel is ok if you are cheap but not as good as oem.

Love UPR and Steeda for good value for the price. Youd be surprised how much UPR stuff is USA made.

Anytime you're talking suspension, it's a crime to leave bmr out of the discussion. You can't beat their parts and support.
