I was thinking about ceramic pro coating my 15 GT. Its all black and garage kept, only driven on nice days. The process is around $500-$1000. Is this worth doing to my car? Has anyone done this and have input? Thanks.
I have ceramic pro gold package. It comes with a lifetime warranty. The guy in the video got the cheapest package. I highly recommend it but go for at least the gold package. You NEVER have to wax your car again. I have a black 2011 GT and the depth of color the ceramic pro achieves and the ease of cleaning it make it worth it. Bird poop and even road tar come right off. They also coat the wheels and calipers with the gold package.
I just watched a very in-depth video on doing it myself.....after watching it, no thanks! Ill have it done professionally. What is the gold package cost average? I have a 15 black gt. thanks
I did the CarPro ceramic coating myself on my 2015 when new. I use Carpro Reload about every 3 months or so to keep the protection and deep shine. I also used both on my wife's BMW. I have to say, Reload is great by itself. I used Reload alone on a 2006 Acura MDX and it looks great.
With the gold package which I believe is 4 layers of the coating, paint correction and in my case some paint chip repair you are probably looking at $1200.00. If your paint is is in perfect condition and there is no correction or chip repair which it sounds like that is the case with your car, I'm sure it would be less.
GOLD
With a LIFETIME warranty the Gold Package offers optimal premium exterior protection on your entire vehicle. It shows great scratch resilience and unbeatable water beading properties.
Includes full exterior detail and single stage paint correction
4 layers of Ceramic Pro 9H on all painted exterior surfaces and trim
1 layer of Ceramic Pro Light on all painted exterior surfaces
1 layer of Ceramic Pro Wheel & Caliper
1 layers of Ceramic Pro Rain on all windows
Tire Armor on all tires
My local detailer is now a certified Gtechniq detailer, according to the site the Crystal Serum Ultra is good for 9 years. If I could get it done for say $1200 that would be a smart purchase.
Thanks for all the input gentlemen. I want to get the process done professionally but the $1200 price tag is high. The car is garage kept and only driven on perfect days (its my extra "fun" car).
My friend does professional detailing and ceramic coating. Ceramic coating is 100% worth it. But it is something you do not cheap out on. Highest quality coating with a professional paint correction prior. You can even have it done on your wheels and plastic trim.
Very good point, just picked up an orbital polisher and will eventually do it myself, I'll practice on my black 89 first. My 14 does not see the road much, 1200 miles last year.
One last word from me. With one of the lifetime ceramic pro packages you NEVER have to wax your car again...
