2.3 Cold Air Intake

If anyone has seen a CAI for a 2.3 please let me know where, I have been looking all over the place and have not been able to find one. Also does anyone know if you can just remove the MAF and your car still run fine(doubt it will, just wondering)

Re: 2.3 Cold Air Intake

Well, I haven't seen too much out there for the 2.3 Mustang.

You could always make one. some 3-4" PVC or aluminum piping hooked up to a K&N filter.

Try looking up CAI's for the Thunderbird 2.3L turbos, or the 2.3L Ford Rangers. I believe there is a small market for the 2.3L Rangers, might be able to make something work.

Also, if your car came with a MAF, you more than likely have an ECU. Not having a MAF will throw a flag in the computer, which could cause your car to run poorly.

Re: 2.3 Cold Air Intake

I don't think that I really could build a CAI on my own(not too good with tubing and all that stuff) but advanced auto parts and auto zone carry some pre-made piping and cone filters, I just don't know how to connect the MAF sensor to it

Re: 2.3 Cold Air Intake

hmm if its the N/A version I wouldnt really mess with an expensive CAI as the engines product about 95hp or less (around there) and the gains percent wise will be very minimal (5hp or so). Ebay CAI's are fine but the quality is in question on them unless the brand is good (MAC or such)

It is indeed normally aspirated but they get somewhere in the range of 100-109 horse power and one of the CAI's that I found supposedly adds around 6hp

Re: 2.3 Cold Air Intake

Well on my focus someone wasted there money on a k&n intake thats around $250 and is made no better than the cheap ebay intake I bought for my stang for around $32-$35. Just the k&n came with fancy stickers

Re: 2.3 Cold Air Intake

the one good thing you get with an intake is that the filter is generally reusable if you buy a good one so eventually it saves. You can get filters that have to be reoiled but they also have some that dont require oiling~

Re: 2.3 Cold Air Intake

When it comes down to it I just want the intake for the looks.(the chrome piping looks good) But I haven't seen any that where cheap enough for me to get so I'll probably just make one of my own
