I haven't done it on an svo...but I've done it on a few ae86's. I'd imagine quite a bit is needed.

Head, intake, throttle body, throttle cable, injectors, harness, ecu, head bolts, head resurface, valve job "might as well", seals, head gasket, exhaust manifold, new exhaust "custom most likely, maybe steering shaft or rack if it is in the way of the intake or exhaust, distributer, coil, ignition. There are lots of variables. You will find the problems as you go lol.

Ahh projects.

Which can be fixed with a boost controller or larger turbo. I've seen 9sec svo's with ford heads. But haven't seen a 9 sec Volvo headed svo...not yet.

Naturally aspirated engine building will never...ever give you boosted numbers. Sorry NA guys.

Reliability...cost...horsepower...torque...you can get higher revs and a smooth torque and power curve but yeah. Again all in the eyes of the beholder.

I'm sure that's an obtainable goal with a turbo for sure. Plus you'll have the power over the NA. I get 25mpg avg 30-31highway with my 06 v6 vortech blown. Have all bolt on's and massive 295/35/19's on the rear.

Recently got an autometer ecometer and tried going Ecorodding. For ****s and a week I drove normal and got an avg of 19mpg, then I tried actually using it and changing my driving habits. That's when I saw the 25mpg avg I think I can do even better with saved sideview mirrors which can be seen in my photos unfinished at this time. And also a temperature controlled opening and closing grill from a newer focus or cruze Eco.

Btw my stang runs high 12's
