I'm lost isn't the oil pump inside the oil pan? Don't we have to take off the pan to get to it? Explain guys . Or is it simpler

Yes its inside the pan. Its going to be pretty tough to do with the motor in the car tho.

It would make things alot easier with the engine out, not impossible to do with it in but it would be alot easier on you with it out. The oil pump driveshaft and the distributor gear engage together

The oil pump driveshaft will only go in through the bottom, there is a locking ring at the top of it. You can get It done with the engine in or out of the car.

Can he remove the oil pan without removing or lifting the engine? The foxes with 5.0's, the oil pan straddles the k member. I don't know about the 2.3's.

It doesn't really straddle it but there's not a lot of room to do much
