Difference between 2.3 rear axle gears and 5.0 rear axle gears

Hey guys I'm wondering what/if any difference there is between the rear gears for a 7.5 on a 2.3 and a 7.5 on a 5.0?

Other than strength for more HP/torque, can 5.0 7.5 axle gears be installed in my 2.3 7.5 axle?

Thanks!

Yes they can. The really only big difference is the actual diff itself. Other then that its the same size its straight swap . I swapped my n/a 7.5 non locking to the svo diff . Auburn Trac loc . I took off the original gear it had 3.45 and put my stock 3.73 one so I'm good to go. N/a with stock 3.73 ur good to go just make that **** posi . 3.73 & 4.10 are the best gears .

That's strange, but I'm sure the diff helped a bit

91-93 mustang have hydraulic lifters. And rangers have solid lifters. Maybe that made the difference
