I have a 1989 mustang lx 2.3 the transmission went out buy I have a transmission from a 5.0 can I add it to the 2.3 with out running into any problems please help any help would be greatly appreciated in my opinion I don't think I will run into problems but am not sure both cars are automatic transmission

I think you can, but you might a different bell housing.

You have to buy an adapter plate from esslinger I think and you have to have the flywheel and clutch from the 5.0

Or you can use the current bel housing clutch and flywheels and input shaft and put it on the v8 tranny

I forgot to say it's an automatic transmission
