svo rear questions

Ok so I did some searching & still not sure about stuff. The rear in my 86 svo needs rebuilt, it's pretty bad. I'm thinking if I can use a sn95 8.8 temporarily because it's my dd. The svo rear is 1.25"wider than a fox 8.8 & the sn95 is .75" wider than the fox. From what I gather the difference is only in the axle length. I figured the sn95 rear would be the best bet cause it's already a disc brake rear. I'm just not sure if everything will line up right. Anybody have any thoughts or input on this? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
