I'm thoroughly unimpressed with the Ecoboost engine in the Mustang. 315hp is nice, but not much different from the V6 (a 15-ish horsepower bump will be noticeable, but nothing crazy). And then the gas mileage isn't even that much better than the V6. It gets 22 city, 31 highway while the 2014 V6 does 19 city, 31 highway. Not very impressive to me. The torque will be nice, though. If you want my opinion, the only 2015 Mustang to get is the GT (or hell, the GT350).

First, I don't want a '14, I want a '15. Second, I believe the eco is rated around 320 tq. That's what, 40 more than the V6? And third, it'll be different. I've had plenty of V8 Stangs and now I wanna try something different from the rest. And one more thing, I'm not aware of any prior Stangs coming in that color.

Yeah I love Guard. It reminds me of Dark Highland Green, which was a color offered on the original Bullitts. The Bullitt was offered in black and blue as well, but you can definitely see that the DHG was the most popular. Lol

The current V6's are rated at 305 and were downgraded to 300 so your talking about 10-15 HP at the most difference between the eco boost and the current V6 so from a performance standpoint your not going to feel that much of a difference. Although the turbo will probable be easier to add more power to. With the V6's its hard to get 300 RWHP with simple bolt on's where with the turbo you can probable do that with a few hundred dollars although no body really knows how mod friendly the turbos will be.

With that said the 15's are great cars and have a lot of good upgrades/ changes from the prior year. So I would say go for it. I would love to have a eco boost as well but it doesn't make sense to trade in my 14 V6 for a 15 that makes the same power and gets the same MPG's (personal choice). The only reason I would be hesitant is that I generally won't purchase first year models of a new body style. Not only do you generally get stuck paying MSRP or above as they don't offer rebates. Dealers in my area already have eco boost models listed at 35 k. And also occasionally there are little issues with first year models that don't fully work themselves out during the R&D.

Yeah, I'm always skeptical on first year models. I would either wait until the next year or near the closing year to see what others have to say and if there is anything faulty, just my preference.

One of the only reasons I couldn't do the v6 or the eco boost is the exhaust note. Personally it doesn't sound right without a v8. But if it makes you happy that's all that's important, in the end it's your money. Get it and let us know how you like it. And guard is a bad *** color!

OP, I think the Eco boost will be real sweet and fun car to drive. To early yet to know how mod friendly the car will be. My 3.7 automatic makes just shy 300 rwhp and have only bolt on mods. I certainly wouldn't trade my already 300 rwhp in for a Eco boost but not having one already, different story.

As far as the color goes, I saw that color you want on the 2015 stang at the Philly auto show. Sorry, don't like it at all and would never buy that color. Of course I'm more about the color screaming out, look at me, here I am. Deep impact blue , competition orange and yellow. If it were me, I would be all over competition orange with black accents. I love the Mach 1's and the Boss in comp orange and its pure sex.

I think the eco will be a lot of fun. I've never owned a Mustang with a turbo before so that also ups the cool factor for me lol. Another reason I'm considering a new Mustang in general is my '12 will be out of warranty soon. If I can get the deal I want, the payment will be right about the same, I'd have a brand new car again, it'd be an all new body style and 3 more years of warranty. We'll just have to see what happens. I'm a Michelin employee, so we can use the Ford X plan, which gives us 4% over employee pricing. I priced a 2011 GT when they first came out. Sticker was $32,300 and the X plan took it down to $28,200 out the door. With that plan and my trade, I should be able to get the eco for somewhere between $19-20,000. If not, I'll just wait.

Getting my oil changed at the dealer now and asked some questions about the '15s. No Ford X plan pricing as of yet. Salesman said they don't expect any '15s until sometime next month. They will most likely get the ecos and V6s first. One good thing is that the X plan should apply for a special order as well.

The v6 models for the 15s start at 23,600 and the Eco boost models start at 25170 so unless ford offers rebates I doubt that x or a plan will bring them in the 19-20 range out the door. Have to remember the more the car the more of a discount so that 4 k off a GT won't be the same amount if the car is 8-10 k less.

This is the pricing I'm basing all of this off of. This does not include the X plan discount. This car is about 4k less than the '11 GT I had priced. If I can get 2k off, I'll be happy.

That's also an estimate on my trade. I have closer to 6k in equity according to trade in value. I put in 5k just to be on the safe estimate side.

Silly question or maybe I missed it but are people going to easily identify visually the difference between the 3.7 and 2.3 turbo models. Of course the 5.0 is gonna have 5.0 emblems on the side and Gt trunk emblem but what about the V6 and 4 banger models?

I think the V6 comes with the running pony tri bar emblem on the trunk, like its now on the sixxers, and the ecoboost with only the running pony emblem on the trunk.
