Hey. Ill chip in
Got my 03 mach 1 about a month ago. I started in a red 94 v6 auto, had it for 2.5 years. then got a black 96 gt stick, owned it for exactly 5 years 19 days, modified it, tracked it, loved it, cried when I sold it. Now the 03 black Mach 1 with the stickshift. I'm starting to love it, but I'm still missing my 96...

Anyone got dyno numbers?? Include mods. I'm trying to figure my mach out. No bolt ons stock exhaust. The engine was replaced (longblock by the service writeup) and I know the intake manifold was worked on... no idea what. Build writeup also notes "custom" cams and head work. But no details and the original owner had no clue... anyways... I got it on a new (calibrations and 1 pull before me) mustang dyno. I'm skeptical but the corrected whp came out to 309 with 321tq... anyone think that could be right? I've got a tune, rai, tb, catback amd shifter on the way. I'm hoping to get to 335/345 based on the first pull... Im gonna have to rip into that engine I think.

Stock machs put down 265-280 range and torque close to 300 if u had cams and head work and intake u would be way higher then 309 whp more like 365 with that stuff done

I have a 69 sports roof GT with a ram air 428.cj. I live in Kelowna B.C. I raced a Z 28 camero with a 302 zapper block to block. I have a c-6 transmission and a 3.91 Detroit locker rear end. I left it in first gear and revved it to 7000 rpm. Yes over revved that car many times lol. We raced 2 different blocks but he didn't pass me. I asked if he wanted to race a 1/4 mile and he said no.

We did an 04 Mach 1 . Those things are a strange breed man. I've driven upwards of 10 different ones and most have been stock ( all 03 and 04) and some just rip way harder than others . Our last one was a borla exhaust with jba headers and a frpp x pipe with cats. I think it had a jlt cold air kit and fidanza clutch but. NO tune for sure. That thing kept up with similar year vettes seemingly without issue . Very cool cars

Well I got mine in September this past year and I work with a guy who runs an 04 cobra on the track. 9.41 @ 142 mph on the quarter and he has been helping me out a bit. What I did for mine is a fully SLP exhaust, slp high flow cats there xpipe, and loudmouth series 1 resonators, gutted the cats, put slp longtube aluminum ceramic coated headers. C&L cold air intake is best for our Mach 1's because it allows the shaker hood to still function. For anyone looking to put a good suspension job on there stang Billstein adjustable shocks are best. Then put you a SCT X-cal 3 tuner on it and have it tune all those bolt ons on your car to get the max performance you can get out of them. If your lookin I go any serious with performancing it, first build your car up rear end and full suspension wise to handle say a 2.9 or 3.4 whipple super charger. Have fun with it!!

Re: Mach 1 section

Anyone do a gear swap yet, I'm thinking about putting 3.73s on my Mach. I wanted to put the 410 or 430 but I don't have the rear end or drive train built for that yet. If anyone's done the swap to 373 let me know what it costed you for installation and if you felt much difference. Thanks

Mine was supposed to have 3.73 gears when I bought it. I question that now cause I get ~1700RPM at 60MPH. I saw that online somewhere on a Mach1 review from 2003. Anybody have stock gears that could confirm?

I would think you would need some drag radials to hook up if you had 4.10 or 4.30. Those are pretty expensive and don't last long. I would think 3.73 would be the perfect bump from 3.55 (stock). Too big of change and you'll have to re-teach yourself your launch cause it be super quick to let loose.

I have the 4:10 FR gears. But yes the launch is quite different, if you drive over 65 alot you will be around 2800-3100 at 75-80. I had some mosiers 28 but they were twisted. So saving up for BP 31 spline and carrier

Re: Mach 1 section

Yea I wanted to go with bigger gears but from past cars I've done with other guys we had to build a bigger rear end and a lighter driveshaft, in the long run it helps because if not, in about a year or so things will start breaking, I don't want to spend the money atm lol but how much did it cost you to do your gear swap
