Re: PPRV delete, wish me luck....!

Ok got it!!! It was a loose clip on one of the hoses for one of the fuel pumps. Runs great now! 2nd time around that tank sure came down faster. LOL Air/Fuel ratio is good idle at 14.5-15 and about 11.2 into the throttle.

PPRV is for nothing but giving more life to the fuel pumps. It is only good for stock Cobras(03-04). Once you do more and more mods to your Cobra the make it faster there is a hesitation that occurs due to this valve not being able to keep up with the fuel demand.

Anywho, I am ready for Dyno tonight! I hope this stupid rain stops!!!!

Gotcha. So its basically just a valve that opens and shuts to feed fuel? Good luck on the dyno man.

Yeah its kinda like that. the PPRV delete kit comes with a "Y" and fuel lines. $80! Not bad for consistent fuel delivery.

Thanks I will POST Dyno results tonight!!

Just to add some clarification, the pprv serves to keep pressure in the fuel lines so that when you start up the lines are pre-pressurized.

The down side is, even on stock cobras, the pprv can actually cause a slight hesitation in fuel delivery between shifts at wide open throttle causing an uber lean condition and possibly making something go pop.

That A/F is a bit out of control. Can't tell what the numbers are related to the lines...but it looks a bit lean at the start and is definitely starting to lean out on the top end where it shouldn't.

Do you have actual numbers as to what your A/F is climbing up to on the top end?

A/f jumps down to 10.5 then back up to 11.7-12. A/f was good throughout really. The graph doesn't show it very good.

Here's the video of the Dyno:

Here's the video of the Dyno:
That's way too rich at 10.5 and it's getting risky lean up top with 18psi. What kind of max timing are you running? 11.7 isn't always a bad thing, but up top it could get finicky about what gas is in the tank. I ran mine like that for years and would get detonation with anything other than chevron.

Re: PPRV delete, wish me luck....!

Yeah that little dip they couldn't figure out. They said that it looks longer then it really was. Basically it was when he pushed to full throttle and it came back to where it should be for A/F. The timing I don't remember the number but he said it was not aggressive and was perfect! The guy who tuned my car works for High Performance Engines - Race Engines - ProCharger - SMRE Performance he builds and tunes high performance motors. Visit the site, they sell a motor for $80k. So I trust in the tune he has provided, it wasn't his first Mustang nor his first Terminator.

Anyway my car has never perform better just on the ride home!!! It feels so much better and 100% better throttle response!!! First visit to the track will be next Friday!

keep a listen for detonation and check the plugs after a bit of driving and keep an eye on them and you should be good to go.

Definitely listen for detonation up top. You won't hear it down low being as rich as it is.

Thanks guys! And yes both Tim (ZZP) and Ryan (Tuner) said after 2 weeks re-gap or check plugs! I will keep an ear out for detonation: remind me what that sounds like! Big pop or bang right.

Gotcha!! So your saying you heard that in my video or just to keep an ear out for it! I know Detonation is when your fuel is ignited before the piston has reached the end of its up stroke. Just not sure if your saying I have this problem.

I'm saying listen for it. I didn't watch the video, but you won't hear it from outside the car anyhow. You'll hear what sounds like marbles in a tin can coming from the floor boards or the dash area.

Okay now i gotcha! thanks for this info. I have always heard about Detonation but never experienced it myself. I will keep an ear out for this sound. Check it out!
