Bullitt1075 can answer that question better than I. He's much more knowledgeable on how these cars accept mods...

Probably a dealer item. Or the wrecking yard. I suspect that its the same on all the cars to hold on the skirt.

I would have to guess at least 300hp + at the crank, possibly a bit more with a good tune. Since you will have the engine apart already, have you considered upgrading cams? Also, if you can, I would try to stick with the original block just to keep it a matching numbers car.

Stage 2 cams from Ortiz Performance, $450. You don't need cam gears and don't need cam springs if you keep it under 6k rpm (we redline before that anyway). I'm thinking of doing that this summer myself. The reason it's cheap is because they take stock cams and regrind them.

I'm on a very tight budget and have to fix a lot of things on it

I just had my drivers seat repaired at an upholstery shop. They put something on it to spruce it up. Now its just ever so slightly darker than the passenger seat. I'll find out what they used next week. Remind me if I forget.

Well I've decided to use the good non pi rotating assembly and it bumps the compression ratio to 10:1:1

I'm porting my pi heads and my bullitt intake . Do you know if I have to run 93 oct with this set up ? If I port my heads it will lower the intake

---------- Post added at 11:21 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:19 PM ----------

I meant it will lower the compression ratio

Porting won't lower your compression ratio. If that swap raises your c/r to 10.1 I would say that you'll be fine on pump gas. I have a 460 in my F250 that is close to 11 to 1 and it does just fine on pump gas. Pings a tiny bit on regular with a load in it but no pinging on premium.

I mean it has aluminum heads and 10:1:1 I think it should be fine idk I'm kinda half and half on the swap . What can I do to lower the cr alittle ?

I like the bump up in compression. I have to tell you, that 460 really woke up with a higher c/r. Again, Im no expert on mod motors, but the principals are all the same. Hopefully you'll get some more feedback about this on your other thread. I think the 10.1 will be perfectly acceptable though. Also, bear in mind, we only have 91 octane here in Ca and my big block runs great on it. And the engine has 380 thousand trouble-free miles on it , so reliability was in no way compromised with that high of a compression ratio.
