Looks like you removed a fair amount from the chamber. You're really moving along on this. When you get a chance, I'd like to hear what combination of parts( heads, block, rotating assembly) that you are using.

Cool! Were they damaged at all or just in need of a little paint?

Haha. I like the accent. You have that southern gentleman thing going on. That car has definite potential! Im even more excited to follow along on this build. I wish that I could find a project like that. Oh, and your dads Mach sounds wicked. Is that an FE engine?

You're making progress. I've been thinking about those pistons that came out of that engine. The last ones that I saw, that were that bad came out of a 2 stroke engine. The broken one was of particular concern. Any info from the previous owner as to what may have caused that? I know it was detonation. What are your thoughts on what might have been the possible cause?

Hmmm. That damage is pretty bad. Id hate to see that happen to the next engine. I suppose the tuner could do that, but good lord, that had to be making a hell of a racket. Who in their right mind would drive it like that. And that didn't just happen babying it around. It was getting the ball sacks driven off of it for that bad of damage to occur. Well, you had a turbo and know what detonation sounds like. Id make sure the fuel delivery system is operating correctly, I.e. clean filter, proper pump pressure, etc. A lean condition at high RPM's can also cause that damage...

Ok on my sct tuner does sct have a 87 oct tune ? How much do they charge to email a different tune ? It has a 91 street tune 93 performance tune and a 93 race I would like to replace the 91 street tune with a 87 octane tune just to get good throttle response

Yea they have 87 octane tunes for street and performance, but not race... Not sure of the price for a single tune though.

I wouldn't do the bumper swap. I would personally keep the exterior as close to stock as possible but that's me lol

Yeeesh. Summit huh? I used to never have a problem with them years ago. I think that Scotty uses Rockauto. You might have a look at them. I was getting a bit of detonation at WOT yesterday at the auto-cross. My car is all stock. I am wondering if those heads you've been working on were as carboned up as they looked in the pics. I suspect mine may be the same since our cars have similar miles. Also where in the hell did you find a refurbished Mach 460 head unit. Info pleeeaasse...
