Mach 1 question

My buddy just got a Mach 1 and his rpms hang really bad. Does anyone have a good fix for this?

Lighter clutch/flywheel assembly, aluminum DS, maybe?

Possibly. But when we had our mustang gts a few years back (me and my dad) there was a trick where you took the throttle body hose off and stuck a copper plug in it with a small drilled hole. And that made a world of a difference. So I'm scratching my head over here. Lol

Its hanging throttle caused by too large an opening in the IAC. Its an easy fix if you are handy with tools. I made a restrictor plate to go between the intake manifold and the IAC. I made mine from a piece of sheet aluminum. I removed the stock gasket, traced it onto the metal, and cut it out with some metal snips. The holes were drilled. Here is a thread that explains a lot-

Hanging/Slow dropping RPM FIX inside. - 2003-04 Mach 1 Registry Owners Club

Since I did mine, the RPMs fall off perfectly, revs like a carburated car.

Yep. This is the solution. Iac needs adjusting. Personally, mine isn't too bad, so I haven't bothered, but some people really like it modded
