Bullitt

What's your guys opinion on the Bullitt!? I'm seriously considering buying one after I sell my v6 hopefully this week. And what's your favorite color of the Bullitt? Thanks

Depends what you call glorified.... There are quite a few things different:

Black grille surround (instead of chrome)
Wingless
Side skirts
Flush style side scoops
Quarter windows
Interior
Shocks/struts
Springs
Bullitt intake manifold
96-98 Cobra CAI and TB
Accessory drive pullies (UDPs)
Awesome color
13" Cobra brakes
Factory subframes (not good, but still)
Wheel finish is special to Bullitt
Retuned factory exhaust
Amazing interior
Special pedals
Cool shift knob and bezel
Door sill plates
Nicer gauge cluster

Might be a few more things I'm forgetting.

I got ripped off...

That wasn't very nice CH.

Your right though. A Bullitt is really just a factory "bolt on" car. They do have some neat stuff that isn't readily apparent and, if taken care of, they should hold there value better than a GT.

Make sure to post some pics of the cars that you're considering OP...

I'm sorry stray I didn't mean to offend you. I know you've put a lot of work into yours. Also OP, if you find a throttle cable and intake to a bullitt.. Sell it and make $$$ because they're discontinued lol

Bullitt

Same could be said about the Cobra.... Just get a Mach and upgrade that... Or roush, and Saleen, get a GT and upgrade that instead....

Or a GT, you could get a V6 and upgrade that........ See what I'm tryin to say?

There is more to what the car physically has. Like the Heritage..., if you wanted to save money and go faster there are many better options for everything.

I bet 90% of people that see that bullitt will never have even seen that movie.

I have but only because my brother likes old *** movies. I never finished watching it because it was boring as **** lol.

I skipped to the car chase and turned the DVD player off haha

You'd be surprised how many people remember that movie.
I actually had some guy come up to me and say, "Nice car, it kind of reminds me of that car in Bullitt". I was shocked. He never saw the rear of the car where it says "Bullitt", AND, my car is True Blue!

I do wounded why they made a blue, and black bullitt, when the true car was green? Not knocking the color's because I like all 3 but was just wondering.

Yea most people won't know the Bullitt is from a movie..... But those same people will think that the Gone in 60 seconds car is the Eleanor imposter from the Nick Cage movie.

Haha.
I kinda remember it. And I saw it within the past 10 or 15 years.

The car chase scene is what really set the two movies apart. I don't know about the present time, but I believe the car chase in Bullitt was the longest in movie history. It was the most famous, at any rate. And Steve McQueen was the "king of cool".

I don't have a clue what Ford was thinking with the colors either. Most people wanted the DHG.
Whatever...

2v has 270/315
3v has 315/325

Torque is very similar. It's just a bit extra hp from the 3rd valve.

Don't forget about weight... It only takes a few mods to a 2v to beat a 3v
