03 Mach 1. 215k km

JLT intake.
Sct tuned
JBA mid pipe H o/r

Eibach pro plus kit
Cc plates
Bumpsteer kit

Fays 2 watts link
Stifflers fit system
Stifflers K member brace
Stifflers spider brace
Stifflers strut tower brace (yes, with the JLT Intake. It's tight but it fits with the shaker raised a quarter inch.)

T56 Magnum transmission
Fidanza alum flywheel
Clutch quadrant, firewall adjuster etc.
I beat on it till it brakes, then upgrade it, and repeat. I really like the new trans.

Car ran 13.4 @ 104 in too much heat @ 5600ft. That was the old trans though. Plans for the next year are to build the rear end (torsen t2 diff, 31 spline axles) and seriously upgrade the brakes. Couple years from now I'll do an engine swap maybe. Or not... Also agent 41

Drilled /slotted rotors,
SS brake lines.

Corbeau lg1w seats.

Some other stuff to probably...

Nice mods! You've done a lot since I was gone for a year. I'm following your T56 thread. I'd love to swap into one myself.

Tx, yeah I've definitely gone a different route for what most Mach drivers with 10k to spend would have gone. But I love the way the car feels now. Chassis reinforcement is one of the biggest improvements you can make imo, I've driven 700hp cobras with nothing done to stiffen them. Kinda scary really haha.

The magnum should be finalised this weekend, my first test drive of it was good. It shifts so much easier and direct than the t3650.

Haven't been on the site for a while but I have managed to snap some pics since getting the car out. First full summer for the car since I bought it and it's a blast to drive. Just an awesome ride after proper tuning, drop, and 31 spline overall with the 4.10's.

04 Azure Blue Mach 1 with 63k miles (had 58k when I bought it last June)

Previous Owner
Flowmaster 40's, C&L Intake and 18" Saleens

Current
SR Lowering Springs ~ 1.75" drop with no isos
dyno tuned for 91 octane
Moser 31 spline street/strip axles
FRPP 31 Spline Tlok w/ carbon discs (Terminator/GT500 diff.)
FRPP 4.10's
Tri Ax short throw in the mail

Saving up for FI in a year, probably Procharger on low boost, though after seeing 2 machs at the shop where I got my car tuned with blown mills I may invest in some forged rods etc first. Probably do long tubes before then, would love cams but damn after parts/labor there's half of the procharger lol.

She's looking good! At first, I thought I'd go with that ProCharger kit that uses the shaker system as my future mod. I just feel like it's a problem waiting to happen when it comes to boost with these Mach engines. If you keep the boost super low, like 6lbs, then it kinda like your blowing your money.

My future power mods are going to be custom grind cams, ported intake, long tube headers, and a good dyno tune. I'm told it should be easy to get in the 350-360rwhp range with this setup. I would be very happy with that setup. I'm going to try to start buying stuff over the next couple years and leave the ported intake as the last thing I do. With that power and the sound will be perfect for what I'm looking for.

Yah that's an expensive way to make 350rwhp but probably safer compared to FI on the stock internals. I will probably do long tubes next season and really want to do cams but am having a hard time getting past the install cost.

Installing 96-98 cobra cams myself wouldn't be bad if I wasn't going to time and advance them but then what's the point right?

So I might just get over not having a mean lope and some gains from cams and put that coin towards some forged rods for FI down the road.

Let's see your Mach 1

I got a question for you guys. Forgive me for not knowing, but what's so special about the 96-98 cobra cams? Are they a really aggressive cam or something? I see a lot of terminators with them, and I just never asked why, until now. If you all don't mind answering I'd love to find out...

From what I understand, you can obtain them for pretty cheap used and they can be swapped right in without changing springs, etc. The word is that you should see 20 to 25rwhp gains even without degreeing the cams, so that adds to the low cost because most peeps don't know how or have the tools to degree cams. But you also gain HP at higher RPMs (like 5k - 6k+ RPM) over the stock Mach cams, which is what is great about them. My worry about something like that is that you are putting used cams in your engine and what if there is a problem with them? Also, from what I've read, degreeing your cams can produce good gains in low and midrange area in HP and TQ. If that's true, I would like to have that done, so I'd be paying for that anyway, which gets your cost back up there.

I have read that custom grind cams can maximize what you get as far as HP gains and giving you that wonderful idle we all wish we had lol. I'm hoping I will grow a pair and tackle the install myself and then have them degreed by a pro. That is what I'm hoping for anyway lol.

Ok thanks for the info. We had to degree the cams in this Porsche engine at our shop. Someone installed it wrong and it was 180 degrees out of time...

Well, so far it's been a ****ing fiasco. I should start by saying that the trans itself is awesome, it shifts quick and smooth while still feeling very positive. Sadly, im having issues with a strange grinding gear noise while in gear coming from in the trans. It's a huge issue and im still resolving it (tremec is working with me on it.) if it is set up right and runs quiet, I'll be ecstatic about it. It's clearly worth the money to me as long g as you run into minimal issues. Stifflers makes a great universal mount for it too. It is available through latemodelrestoration

DSG is a sexy color. She looks awesome! That's a great 1/4 time right there.

13.47 at 107.2 is my best on summer tires. I recently bought a matching set of 17x10.5" AFS wheels for the rear. I plan to use my extra set of 17x9's for drag radials to take to the track. Eventually I'll upgrade the rear and maybe run some slicks. Either way, I get my 60ft down from my 2.15 best and I'll be seeing improvements lol.

Tons of nice Machs in here! I'll throw mine in. It's an '03 5-speed with 30k miles. Procharger P-1SC installed, putting down 448 rwhp @ 6 PSI. Tuned by Bob Monks at STL Mustangs.

Haven't taken it to the track yet, but plan to this spring. Should be in the 11's with a good launch. I've been terrorizing the 5.0s and Camaros so far.

Very nice man! Always thought the black Machs were the sleekest, the sleepers in the Mach family. Most don't know it's a Mach unless you're paying attention.

Did you install the Procharger? I am looking into either a P1/D1 setup or Vortech V3 next year. I would be very happy with 425-450rwhp at low boost.

Looking great LaserRed99! Nice numbers with the P1SC. Boosting smart at 6PSI. Well done!

Thanks, yeah I love the black... just keeping it clean is a nightmare though, lol.

The blower was professionally installed. It was actually on the car when I bought it. It was only making 405 rwhp though. I opened up the exhaust a bit with an upgraded mid-pipe and had it re-tuned by a really reputable guy in the area. Last owner still had stock exhaust on it except for Flowmasters.

I totally recommend the Procharger! Get the D1 though, they are supposed to start making boost down lower.

Thanks!! Lorraine is a sexy beast too.

I'm going to leave it at 6 PSI unless I ever get the engine forged.

I see. It definitely looks like it was very well maintained, not to mention great miles! Biggest reason I'm thinking D1 right away is to save on the upgrade cost. It's ~$400 to upgrade when buying a new kit, well over $1500 to upgrade afterward.

However, should you decide to part ways with that blower let me know, seriously. As you know the new kits aren't cheap and it's hard to come across a used kit designed for the Machs.

Is there anything better than a shaker sticking out of the hood? Every time I see a Mach 1 I wish I had considered one in my Mustang search.

Maybe one day I will add a Mach 1 hood and shaker to the GT.

Just my opinion, but I don't think I would change the color. The car looks great.

Thanks man but it's been repainted very poorly and if I have to repaint my car why not paint it something special and make it unique at the same time? Also I'm not the biggest fan of dsg as well lol
