Mach 1 missing rocker side stripe

Hello everyone. So I just aquired a black 2004 Mustang Mach 1. It has the original shaker hood and has the mach 1 hood stripe by however doesn't have a side mach 1 strip. Is this factory black with no side stripw? Or was the car repainted?

First, congrats on your new Mach! They really are awesome cars that just carry the heritage and cool factor that many mustangs don't have.

The black machs did come with the rocker stripes just like the other colors. They were the matte black, obviously hard to see from more than 3 inches away just like the hood stripe.

It's possible that the rocker was re-painted and no new stripes added but it's also possible that a previous owner removed them too. Believe it or not but the quality of the graphics on those cars was less than favorable and it didn't take much for them to peel or chip away. Sometimes no stripes is better looking than peeling, torn stripes.

First off excellent car! The stripes were crap to begin with; the material used was garbage. If you want to put them back on, I recommend going to a graphics/sign shop who can make you the stripes in a better quality material. Personal friend was in the same place you are; he bought his Mach new and within a year the graphics were falling apart. He took it to our local sign shop and they made him some. The graphics look like they were put on just a few hours ago... The car is daily driven and the graphics look better than the ones on my Roush. I almost bought a 04 Mach 1 completion orange with the same problem. Only reason I didn't get it was it was an auto.

Getting them painted on is an option though you will cry uncontrollably for hours after the first paint chip.

When I got my Mach the rocker stripes were fine but the hood stripe had seen better days, was peeling at the very front and in a couple spots on the small section behind the shaker. That was the first thing I did within a week after I got the car, couldn't stand looking at the peeling stripe every time I drove the car.

And Recon, those CO auto Machs are some rare mofos, even rarer if it's one without the IUP, but I can definitely understand not wanting the auto, I made it clear to myself I wouldn't settle for an auto Mach.

Yes, it doesn't feel right that a mach 1 can be an auto... Even saying makes me feel sick. If it was asure blue I could've possibly bought it. It was priced right with a ton of mods and 70k miles.

I disagree with The Great Recon

Nothing wrong with an auto Mach 1

Also, the lower side stripes looked fine and IMO needed to make it look as it should. You can buy Ford OEM side decals from Latemodel Restoration. They also have OEM hood decals. The ones from American Muscle are just a tiny bit undersized and might show up if your hood has faded any while the original decal was on the hood.
