What were saying is leave it to SVT. And a few limited edition shelby's. The Shelby facility in Vegas has a super sized parking lot full of mustangs waiting to be shelbyed up and a 20k mark up.
I just want the mustang with the s/c 5.4 before the plastic and signature.

The GT500 has been built by Ford since 68' they built the 500KR and yes, of course the 500's are not as limited as the Shelby's coming out of Vegas. The 2011 had a limited production of 5500 and Ford is a MUCH bigger operation than the small Shelby facility.

I think there should be a svt cobra available. The Shelby dress up should be a limited option. SVT built the car anyway.

You completely missed the point, but looking from the way you understood what I was saying: Yes, I am saying the Boss is a better performer from the factory.

Also, Just becuase Shelby came up with the "Cobra" word doesn't mean we would have never seen this car. It could have been named anything else and it wouldn't matter. I think SVT should badge the car. If some people want to pay for the Shelby product then let them.

i guess, and I am guilty of this as well, you dont think about where the cobra term comes from~ so its a good point to make.

Until you modify it with one purchase from the Shelby store, after that it's a Shelby, right? It doesn't hurt to get your Shelby's Vehicle Authenticity Certificate.

The problem I have with the gt500 is they are the same principle as the original. High priced loaded out mustang. Out of most mustangers reach. Still impressive though. The gt350 was the real track performer anyway. I love what Shelby has done for the mustangs through the years. But Since 93, it's SVT's cobra now though.

Even the GT500 (SVT) is built right in line with the rest, its not shipped off and done. It is produced on the assembly line with the rest.

Sales of the mustang were slipping and in 68' and not looking good behind the competition dropping good engines. I like where you are going with your comment and it's what I'm saying the "Mach 1" was a great car. Ford has plenty of great historic breed tags. They don't have to use "Cobra" without Shelby. They use "Cobra" to sell vehicles.

In Canada the fox body gts were called cobras. But they were identical to the American gt
