Flip Down License Plate Holder for GT500?

Hello everyone,

I live in Maryland and I'm tired of getting tickets for not running a front license plate tag. I am currently weighing up my options on what to do. But I know I definitely do not want to drill holes into my front end.

I looked at the Flip Down License Plate Holder found at American Muscle for my '09 Mustang GT Vert with a GT500 front end conversion. American Muscle sent me an email stating that this setup will work with my car because it has a universal mounting kit. However after researching some forums I read that people had clearance issues with this setup. And some had to mount the kit towards the side instead of centrally as I would prefer.

My car is not lowered at the moment. But if I do the suspension upgrade I want my car may be lowered by an inch in the long run.

May I ask if anyone has tried this setup yet? If so could you please give me your opinions on it and possibly show me some pictures?

Thank you kindly for all of your assistance. And please if you know of a better setup, any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks again!

Velcro is a damn smart idea. I'll have to tell my cousin about that one

they make them, they dont take holes to drill either you can pop em off when you go to a show etc with ease

Craig's Custom Mustang Brackets - Bracket Information

not sure if they work on GT500 grills but you can ask

Either that or that 3M double sided trim tape would probably work as well. Velcro is a damn good idea though. Wish I would have thought of that on mine!

Awesome cop!
I ****ing hate front plate laws, but I don't like getting pulled over, and that just gives them a reason to do it!

I have the Flip down bracket. It's been on 3 years, have CS front bumper. I did place it off to the side, i like it that way. It uses 3 small screws, to the splash shield, light weight and simple.

No issues at high speeds? Im just afraid the wind will catch it and rip it clean off.

No problems at all, it is spring loaded, you slide it forward and it pops up. The top is angled back a little. It never falls down. When you want it down, you tilt it forward and down, slide it back under the bumper. The only problem would be if you lowered the car and ran it over a parking curb.

On the GT500 you can mount it under the center of the main part of the bumper then it will pop up in the std position

Gotcha ya but im speaking of when its tucked under.Does high speed air catch it then or do you always have it up when driving?

Re: Flip Down License Plate Holder for GT500?

Would they still give you a ticket if its on your dash in the front window inside the car? I know it does not make sense as I have not ever had this issue but thought as long as the car see it right. I mean their is no light on the front plate area anyways then just take it down when not needed or at a show.

In WI I think they would give you a warning and five days to mount right
