Cranking Issues

Okay my '08 has had this problem since I bought it but it only happened once or twice so I figured it had something to do with it sitting on the lot but now it's back....when I get in the car and put the key in the ignition engage the clutch and turn the key sometimes it just acts like I haven't pressed on the clutch and I have to cycle the key again....my guess is maybe it doesn't get that the clutch is engaged the first time since it acts the same way it would if I didn't press the clutch......I don't think it's a big deal BUT I was just wondering if anybody else knew what it might be......

Re: Cranking Issues

Ive noticed this sometimes but every time it seems like i just didnt press the clutch far enough for the car to engage the starter motor. I guess just make sure your supressing the clutch aalll the way.

Re: Cranking Issues

yeah I thought it might be that but I always push it to the floor and I don't push it further the second time....I was thinking maybe I cycle the key too fast?????

Re: Cranking Issues

Its possible, maybe you need to oil up the ignition (key lock), or just make sure you are sliding your key in all the way. Other than that i don't know what it could be if its still working the second time, but maybe somebody else has had this issue.
