2013 GT500- Price?

Any guesses on how much these bad boys will be? I haven't heard anything but I'm guessing around 62k or so....

Ford has not released a price yet it could be any were from 5k to a 10k add on to the price. Not that the new model will have 650 horsepower and a top speed over 200 mph but iy is still a hell of a deal even if the price does go up

THE ZL1 Is going to around $55 so I'd think it would be in line with that

First let me say this Cobra is going to be awesome, however you don't really see that many newer Cobra's out there or older Cobra's. I think majority of people who are in the market to spend 60 grand on a sports car are going to buy a Corvette and not a Cobra. I see vettes all over the place. There are tons of new vettes out.

The cobra will smoke the vette, but I agree you do see more of them on the road. To me the vette is more of a luxury sports car where as the cobra is built for speed, with an interior that is fairly basic until recently.

Oh I agree totally with you that the 2013 cobra will smoke the vettes all day. But for some reason way more vettes will be sold. I see vettes all over the place. In a day I see as many vettes on the road as you regular mustangs. People are spending 50 to 60 grand on sports car but they seem to buy the vette not the cobra.

You also have to think about what kind of vettes you're seeing. I bet you don't see too many z06's just like you don't see many cobras. However, you will see lesser versions of both a lot more often. I sure wish I could afford a 2013, but then again I'd prob wait till 2014 when there may be a new body style.

Probably not Z06 vettes but the vettes that cost 55 to 60 grand. You could easily buy a 2013 cobra but I think most wont for what ever reason. I can't recall the last 2010 or 11 cobra I saw on the road

Their is no way a vette would lose to a cobra

Either way there both really quick but you don't see that many Cobras

---------- Post added at 07:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:48 AM ----------

For like every 1 newer Cobra you can find on the road there are like 10 newer Corvette's out. Heck I see way more Porches on the road than Cobra's out. The Cobra is awesome but for some reason the majority of people who have 60 grand to spend on a sports car are not buying the Cobra's. Take the Boss, great engineering to compare to the M3. I bet if a person was looking to buy and can afford the M3 then there going with the M3. I don't think Ford is stealing any M3 customers. People are paying for the prestige of owning a BMW.

You see alot of c5 c6 because they are cheaply made interior wise. Which makes it almost a tuner car if you think about it. Low weight and lower price. But id never take one over a mustang. Especially a new Shelby

650hp and those cheap 285s really ford are you serious I want some 315s, 335s, maybe some 345s I don't care about over or under steer I want to hook and go not sit and spin. when I get my gt500 I dont want to wait a week for new wide rims and drag radials I want to smash in what ever I see without being limited by traction. POWER IS USELESS IF YOU CAN'T PUT IT DOWN!!!!!

dealerships marking them up a good bit over what they are worth regardless.... but I would expect them to go up a tad bit over 2012

Re: 2013 GT500- Price?

I have a 2006 Z06 and am thinking about springing for a 2013 GT500. With the amount of LS7s that are popping and I'm out of warranty I want something I can track problem free.

You people saying this car will smoke a Z06 are on crack. My car weighs around 20% less than the GT500. (3150 vs 3850)

I would be lapping a GT500 around a track.

The only thing that is holding me back... is yeah, it's a mustang. They are great cars, and for the price obviously cannot be beat. But it's a mustang... they have their stereotypes (as do corvettes... gold chain/track suit anybody?)

I think the main reason u see ppl buying more vettes and 911s is because when ppl want to drop 60gs on a fast car they expect it to be a 2 seater they look at the mustangs and think extra weight that they cant really use i mea have u ever seen a 6 foot tall dude in the back of a mustang? Its really funny! Other fact is there buying it to go to the track and distroy stuff who goes to the track bringing 3 buddies for the ridealong really?

Re: 2013 GT500- Price?

I think a large part of that has to do with appearances. People don't want to spend 50k on something that looks the same as a car half the price (v6 mustang). Many people only care about appearances. I have seen an old mustang with cobra badges and rear bumper slapped on it, but I am fairly certain it is not on because the bumper has the cut outs for dual exhaust with only one muffler. If you only care about impressing floozies you could make a base corvette look like a zr1 cheaply. I personally want to break 200 mph and the 2013 gt500 will probably do it cheaper than the zr1. hopefully the GS C7 will go 200, but that would take away from zo6 and zr1 sales.

Guys the time has come. Time to find out that new 13 gt500 prices. So its been released within the last hour of posting this. So a lot of yall have speculated what the costs would be and some of yall were close while some of yall weren't even close at all. But I have the price from Ford via Facebook and what it could cost you a month. So is the suspense killing you guys. Well I guess I could keep dragging it out but I'm tired of typing stuff. So with out further a due the prices will be just right over the $66,000 range. So does that settle it for guys still very affordable in my opinion but still cheaper than it was when they first came out.
