Post 2011 Shelby GT500 SVT Package - Tires

I am curious what everyone's opinion is for tires on a 2011 Shelby GT500 that has the SVT Package. Currently the tires are Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar G: 2, which is an extreme performance summer tire and Asymmetric/Directional tire.

Current tire size is Front Tires P265/40ZR19, Rear Tires P285/35ZR20

I was looking at some Michelin Pilot Super Sport max performance tire. A few people have told me to go with the Michelin tires even though they are more expensive than the Goodyear because the Michelin tires have better grip/handling, quieter, launch is superb, better in the rain.

The only con that people have told me was the price of the Michelin tires.

I live in Tennessee so the weather changes, could rain one minute and be cold or hot the next. Not much snow in Tennessee but that comes and goes as well.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome. I really want everyone's opinion.

Stock tires are horrible in hot weather much less cold weather. Heard great things about the Michelins.

Michelins are good

Nitto 555 are decent

Good years are crap

Nitto invos are good

Mickey Thompsons are supposedly the michelins equal with a better price (never tried them)

Kumhos are crap

Nitto nt05 are good

When I get new ones I will go with the invos

I think I will go ahead and purchase a new set of the Michelin Pilot Super Sport and see how these hold up in the rain.

Stock tires are ok when you really heat em up. In cold weather it's like driving on skates. Heard good things about the Michelins and Nitto 555R's from some local Shelby guys. When its time I'm going the Michelin route.

Pilot super sports for a street tire is freakin amazing... But wear quick and expensive as hell. But grip is unreal. Especially lateral stability. I put down some pretty respectable times at the strip for street tires.

Many will tell you to get DR,s, but if you plan on turning while going fast, these are awesome. I ran just 255/35r20 at the time.
