Rear tire size???

What is the widest tire, without rubbing or modifications, you can run on a 2008 GT 500? I want to with either 19inch/295 or 19inch/305. The brand will be michelin PSS. Thank you

295's easily fit. Not sure I've ever heard anyone using 305's but I guess it all depends on the wheels back spacing and offset.

Doubtful it can be done safely and also without looking like crap. 295's are 11.6" wide and I may be wrong but the 500 has a 9" wheel. I believe you are stuck with 275's on the stock wheel.

Nittos run narrow. Your 305 is equal to a 285 other brand.

There is no rule stating how tire manufacturers come up with the measurements. The conti 295's i just put on my wife's gt are noticably larger than the bfg 295's they replaced. My toyo 305's measure the same as other 315's.

Nittos have always run much narrower.

I use Mickey Thompson 305/35-18 on my stock 2007 gt500 no rub no problems... I also ran the nitto 555rs in the same size with no problems and by the way the stock 07-09 gt500 wheels are 9.5 wide not 9

Just went with a set of HRE wheels and installed Michelin PSS 295 on the rear but the wheel is a 11" size. Heard that some people used the 2013 wheel and installed the 295's on the rear. They are 10" wheels. Putting them on a 9" is kind of streaching it

They are 9.5" shouldn't be any problem
