Highly skilled labor isn't cheap in any business, and I think we can all agree, they are the best of the best. I'd be willing to bet it's below 15%. Most corporations opperate on 5-6cents per dollar spent.

Ehh... i highly doubt that. Most companies dont operate on a 5-6 percent gross margin. If they want to stay in business that is. Its more like 50-60 cent on the dollar. Standard mark up in retail is 60%. Gross margin depends on how quick it sells, what the buyer s bought it for, how much elasticity the product has ect... now there are certain products companies are willing to take a hit on, but no company would spend 6 months on a vehicle they'll make 5% GM on. I bet its somewhere between 30-40%.

McDonalds is the most profitable fast food chain around, there net profit margin is $.05 for every dollar they make.

The airline industry is even lower.

If you think Shelby America makes 30-40 you better buy some stock.
Net is what's left after all expenses. ...management, labor, materials, marketing, utilities, research&development, corporate taxes, income taxes, property taxes, interest on loans, licensing fees. I'm sure there's a lot I didn't mention.

Idk how it turned into this but u have to take into account the volume of sales between companies. The amount of net profit made at Shelby America has to be more than the net profit at McDonald's because of the shear volume of sales. Shelby has to have an increases net profit because they dnt sale near as many super snakes as McDonald's does double cheeseburgers lol.

Exactly! And its a different business sector. McDonald's operates at that margin to gain control of the market. Same thing walmart did. Clothing retail has a much higher net margin than any of those companies listed above.

Heres the thing...your looking at number as a whole. When companies do something on a small scale like super snakes, the roi has to be substantial enough to justify the project. Its not like they have to fight for market share on this.

I know what net is. Why are you showing me over all numbers from a different business sector? That means nothing. Mcdonalds is like Starbucks, you need a million stores to make money. The higher net margin you have, the fewer stores you need. Check out clothing retail or specialty retail. Its higher than 5 cent on the dollar. If Mcdonalds only sold 100 cheeseburgers a year, they would demand a higher return on investment.

This is true. I understand where tc was coming from in his thought.

The thing about Walmart is they go in with their imported goods and force small businesses out. I'm not sure how its not considered a monopoly. If y'all get time, do to Netflix and watch the documentary on Walmart. Pretty interesting. .

Sorry chip. Very odd turn the thread has taken.

Chip, the car is beautiful man, congratulations. Anyone that says they wouldn't do it if they had the financial resources, is lying. Sorry about getting lured into the drama.

Now u got this. And they most definitely could. The baddest GT 350 I think tops out at 750 hp.

I'm also curious, if someone hits you, what happens? Since the S/S isn't a mass produced car, it's a custom build more or less.

Yeah I know right? Haha. Getting insurance, then trying to get it fixed. I wonder how much their insurance rates would change after an incident like that. Let's just hope we never have to ask a S/S owner how it goes down...
