5.0 Magazine - Steeda Power Pack Install on a 2013 Ford Shelby GT500

Hello All:

I just wanted to pass along this write up that was done by 5.0 Magazine & Super Fords.

Quote:
We know that opening up the inlet and sharpening the tuning are tried-and-true methods to improve Mustang performance. The '13 Shelby GT500 likes these mods a lot. The power and torque gains come on in chunks and build across the entire powerband. Adding the smaller pulley simply expands on those gains with more substantial gains across the curve. The peak gains from the Power Pack were 102.33 lb-ft at 4,100 rpm and 91.18 horsepower at 5,600, but it's the movement of the entire curves that you feel in the seat of your pants

Good article, nice gains.
Who's DynoJet was used ? Have watched several 2013 dyno videos, none of them had base line #'s that low. ( 570.2 )

The test was done at our shop in Pompano Beach, FL.

The 2013 GT500. ... they are rated by Ford at 662 HP at the flywheel. The rear wheel HP measured on the dyno is usually around 15 % less than the flywheel. So 662*.85 = 562.7HP. I think we are right on the money.

Best Regards,

TJ

I thought that I read somewhere that with the driveline that the new Shelby has but it's supposed to be less than 15% loss.
Am I wrong?

Have watched dyno videos where pulls of 603, 609, 613, & 620 were put down.
My tuner did a 2013 MY in Jan. that did 610......these #'s are consistent with what Ford thinks will show up @ the wheels...
.
.............From an article in 5.0 Mustang & SF.
.
" Time will tell what tuning shops will accept as typical GT500 losses between the flywheel and tires, but listening between the lines at Ford suggests 8 percent might be more accurate than the rule-of-thumb 15 percent. "

My stock and after mods dyno, 602 stock...driveline loss isn't near 15%, more like 8-9%.
