Wheels/tire question

I found some Shelby CS1 wheels and Nitto tires, 20x11 rears with 315/35ZR20's and 20x9 fronts with 255/35ZR20's

Will I have any fitment issues on my stock 2014 GT500?

I hope they fit, because I went and picked them up. Not lowered, I'll post some pics as soon as I put them on. If they stick out at all, you might see them on the classified page.

Nope. I never really put them up for sale. Yesterday a bud at work offered me $2200, he is picking them up tomorrow.

So now to decide what tires I will like the most. Right now I have Nitto DR's on there with about 50% tread. I'm thinking some Pilot SS. Car is my DD, wont see a track/strip for a few years.

Hey there let me know what tires you are going with on the 18's. I know AM did not have any that would give my the side wall height I wanted

What is the main difference between winter tires and summer?

The tread pattern will be different to grip ice/snow better, but the big difference is the material of the tire itself. Winter tires use a different rubber compound which allows the tires to maintain the grip/traction in cold weather...usually summer tires start to lose their grip when temps get to 40-45 degrees Fahrenheit.

So would the winter tires be better for the Shelby so it could have better traction in the summer?

Wheels/tire question

No...just like summer tires don't work so well in the cold, the winter tires don't work so well when it gets warm.

That why you have summer, winter, and all season tires...each are a compromise for the conditions.

Cincy,

I just put Nitto Motivo's on the car and I must say I am impressed. 315's on the back 255's on the front and I am really loving them. They're A/S 60,000 mile tires. I was real skeptical before buying them, thought I would be disappointed, almost went with the Pilot SS, but since this is my DD, I decided to try these and I do not regret it.

I too am looking to change rear wheels to a 18 inch. I have lowered mine with the Ford racing springs,I think she is lowered about a inch and a half. I wish to use tires that have the tallest side wall so I can have better traction. I was thinking of a 305x50x18 or a 295x45x18. If they fit,can anyone give me advice on this?

I just ordered my Forgestar F14's in Silver and I am checking to see if they can do the pin stripping in the Ruby Red Metallic color. The tires that I did go with are the falkens 275x40x19 and 315x40x20 in the back. Hoping it will look sharp and hold the road better.
