Finally Getting My Dream Car! Need Advice

Hey ME, after months of holding off and finally selling the '08 GT I am about to close the deal on a '14 Shelby. Problem is I can't decide which one I will get and I have a few questions about storage as I won't be driving it much. I'm already in contact with the dealer and price negotiation is done for both. I just need to decide and sign papers. So first the decision, it's gonna either be a Ruby Red with black stripes no track pack and no glass roof or a DIB w/ white stripes, glass roof and every option but shaker pro. I already have a DIB V6 which I will keep for now so I'm kind of leaning towards the Ruby Red. The thing is I really want one with the glass roof but if I ever decide to track it will the people running the track give me problems for having a glass roof? Next It will be stored for about 3-4 months at a time and not driven or started. Is this bad for it and do I need to do anything other than what you would normally do for any car that is stored? Anything special for the engine since it's supercharged? Thanks

Can't help with much of anything other than I would go with DIB and NO glass roof. I don't like those and would want track pack. Wish I had your dilemma lol. Either way... DRIVE it more than once every 3-4 months!! Dear lord that would kill me to have all those horses caged. Just my cent and a half

Ahhhhh love when life gives us these kinds of problems. I think the best advice is to get what you like. Everybody is going to have their opinions. DID is one of my favorites. Can't go wrong with blue and white in my book but in the end, the one that makes you happy is the one to go with. Live the dream be. Congrats.

Thanks guys, I have a glass roof in my sixxer and love it so I want to have one in the Shelby but it's not an absolute must. I wish I would be able to drive it more especially with spring/summer just beginning but I'm about to go out of the country for 8 months. I don't want to wait until I get back because I'm afraid there will be little to no more on dealer lots. As of recently they have been selling pretty good.

If you aren't doing some heavy road racing then you probably won't need the track pack.

Tough choice.
Agree with post # 5 on the track pack, but I am biased on the roof ! ( I ordered both )
Good luck choosing.

Wow! You have two. I love it. I'm giddy like a little kid just to have 1. Mines will be a nice weather weekend car. I barely drive my six. I know I will be tempted to drive the Shelby all the time tho.

Here are photos of the two but as of now I leaning towards the DIB. Even though it has the track pack I can deal with being turntable away at some tracks for having a glass roof. I won't track it much as I would rather track my V6. Complete novice when it comes to tracks and road courses.Click image for larger version

I don't know about the DIB I have to see one in person. Really flip a coin and don't look back, both are nice cars. As for storage get a battery tender hook it up. I store mine all winter here in Ohio and it is just coming into driving weather again. Before you put it up wash it really good dry it really good and wax it. I am lucky enough to have a long driveway so at least once a month during the storage I pull it out and run it till it gets warm, then put it up again.
