Unless you HAVE to have a Shelby, just get a regular 2011-2014 automatic GT and then put a power adder on it for probably less money than a Shelby would cost and get a far better motor than the 2007-2012 cars. The 5.4L isn't even in the same universe as the 5.0L is.

Automatic shelby?

That's why you see 1500 horsepower 5.4s running around right? ^

5.0 is a great motor, but take out all the computer and technology (VCT) then it's on the same level.

Not necessarily true. By taking out the VCT you open up a whole new beast on the coyote.
The 5.0 is way more superior then the 07-12 gt500's 5.4, simple to destroy them staying NA. 5.0 has already been low to mid 9's on motor. And I believe JPC actually pulled out a high 8 second pass NA.

I'm deleting the VCT on my new setup it's verry beneficial

Alows for more aggressive tuning. Aftermarket pcm, bigger cams then the off the shelf bull**** from comp for the 5.0's. 550+ at the tires on motor with cams and no VCT verry easily.

Does deleting VCT have any impact on stock HP, torque, or MPG?

There not garbage, there bad *** cars, personally I love them. Just like I said b4 the 07-12's need a blower swap or better yet a bottle.

Why would you post a link on when the 5.0 had problems???

Show me some 8 secound 9 secound gt500's with under 20 lbs of boost.

Better yet show me a gt500 making over 600 at the tires on 6 - 8psi.

And show me one making 10 secound passes with under 500 hp.

Youtube, buddy there's plenty of them out there. This is beating a dead horse I see. Lol. 5.0 is a great motor, but why would ford make 5.0"s better 5.4 and 5.8 Gt 500"s motors. It's money and marketing buddy. You pay for what you get. You won't see 750 horsepower 5.0"s holding up as long as you would see 5.4 and 5.8 liters. Those motors are made to handle compression better.

You could get a Shelby package added to an automatic car. Lots of packages available. You send your car to the Shelby shop in Las Vegas. They have 30 bays full all the time. I went there in June. Ridiculously overpriced, btw.

Wrong. I'm not talking about stock cars. I'm talking about built not bought like myself

Alot more fast 5.0's out there vs gt500's.

I'd still rather have a 5.8 any day! Everybody tries to justify what they own. A 5.0 is still a 5.0 no matter how you slice it. Especially on the street. Oh yeah, if I did this I'll be faster than you, I hear it all the time. I've seen 5.4s at NMRA run 7's. No matter how fast you think you are there's somebody faster.

There is always someone faster. The Coyote is a beast but its not truly forged, even a Boss. I have half a mind to take a look at the 07-09 GT500s when I'm in the market for a Coyote. Just because it already comes with the fully forged engine and power adder and (IMO) a better 6 spd. I'm beginning to think with a Coyote I'd turbo it to 500-600 and then be looking at forged motors lol.

He who has the most $$$ wins.

Indeed. A Shelby is good enough for me. But building a badass 5.0 could be fun too.

All this talk ab the 5.4, what ab the 5.8?

Keep looking on the horizon... in the now under 3 year time period when my current car payments and a few other things fall off I would easily be able to afford a good used GT500. I would seriously have 0 issue with the forged 5.4L, but I will have to cross that bridge when I get there vs a nice 2011 A6 Coyote. Nothing like a numbered collector car in the garage...

Yeah I've actually thought about that but I have a v6 and the gts package costs about as much as trading in my car and paying the rest for a premium 5.0 haha

All it takes is $$$$$$$$$$

When I was out there the guy at Shelby American said for $10,400 they could Shelby my 2012 V6 Automatic. He said they were getting 475 Plus horsepower out of the 3.7 V6.

They will do an Automatic if you bring or send your car to them.
Ronnie
