Shelby or roush? Opinions

I currently have a mustang gt 03 and I'm inquiring on getting a Shelby or a roush stage 3. Around 06 - 08 models, I've saved up some money to purchase but I don't know what to get? Since a lot of people on here own them I decided to ask. I've googled many pros and cons but I can't come up with a choice. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I think one of the main reasons people get the stage 3 over a Shelby would be the option of an automatic vs manual. If you're going manual, I would go gt500 hands down.

That's true, I'm leaning towards Shelby. Plus they come with more horsepower stock

What is your criteria? What characteristics do you WANT?

I see Shelbys as more focused on the fact of BEING a Shelby. Yes, a lot of ways they are great, but it is more for the label.

Roush (while still being conservative) seems to want to make Mustangs how they believe a Mustang should be- same with RTR, and Saleen, and so on.

I am not saying one is better than the other, but looking at them, which do you feel is closer to you? I LOVE GT500s, but many of them seem more attention grabbing than anything else. By all means, the other companies do this, but it is very easy to get a subtle Roush, or other model.

I have a 2014 Shelby and would not trade it for cars that cost 2x as much. Trying to be as objective as I can, I would say you can't go wrong either way. Having said that, being a Shelby owner does have that mystique about it 😁

I owned a Roush Stage 3 and now own a GT500...hands down the Shelby is better. Plus getting the correct/proper insurance on the Roush can be very challenging...the VIN on a Roush just shows a GT, whereas the VIN on the Shelby shows it is a GT500.
