CAI tune question

Well I have been toying around with getting a CAI (not sure which one yet). Pretty much everyone I look at says Tune required. Now I know it needs to be tuned to take advantage of more airflow. My question is this. I don't have the cash flow to get a tuner just yet, I am also planning on doing some other MODS that will require a tune. Smaller pulley, TB, and Cat Delete are all planned over the next year. How far can I go before a tune is required? I am thinking the CAT delete but not sure. I know I will not get all the advantages of the other MODS until the tune but how bad will it be?

Mlarv5 - Received and replied to your PM - With the GT500's literally anything you're going to install (I'm exaggerating) should be paired with a Bama X4 Tuner in order for the modifications to essentially speak with each other. Because the motor is so high strung any airflow heading in, or out should really be calibrated and optimized. I really wont recommend doing one without the other as if you're going to install a CAI or a Throttle Body without a tune it's going to make the car almost undriveable. In summation here if you're going to be installing any of the previously mentioned mods or even delete your cats you're going to need a tune! Sorry for the wall of text but let me know if you're to have any other questions and I'm here to help and while I know I've showed you before check out out GT500 Bolt on Bolt On Build Up and let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks I was just hoping to do a few at a time. I guess I will save up my penny's to get the tuner at the same time as the CIA and TB. Smaller pulley and Cat Delete will have to wait till the 68 is done.

Anytime! I know how it goes, believe me. I have a few other side projects too and it's always a waiting game. For what it's worth anything that's going to be installed on the Intake or Exhaust Side (With the exception of a Catback or Axleback) should definitely have a tune on it! Let me know if you're to have any other questions at all and I'm here to help!

See that would make sense and I have never been accused of making any sense.

Thanks I will look into doing that.

Mlarv5 - I'm convinced that we're cut from the same cloth and I know how you mean. Keep me in the loop if you have any other questions. These parts aren't going anywhere fast so no rush!
